Shadow Force (Japanese: シャドーダイブ Shadow Dive) is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Giratina.

Effect

Shadow Force causes the user to "vanish instantly" on the turn it is selected, rendering it semi-invulnerable, and then reappear the next turn to cause damage. The only circumstances in which it will not hit the target are if the target has used a move such as Dive or Fly, or if the target is Template:Type2. It will hit even if the foe has used Protect or Detect on the second turn and like Feint, lifts the effects of Protect or Detect for the remainder of the turn in a double battle.

If Yawn is used the turn before Shadow Force is used, the user will fall asleep and the move will be stopped before it hits (unless Uproar or Insomnia prevents the user from falling asleep). In addition, a foe who has just used Lock-On or Mind Reader can still strike through Shadow Force, as well as if the ablility No Guard is in play.
