* Despite being Mewtwo's signature move, it was introduced four generations after Mewtwo and one generation before Mewtwo's alternate forme.
* Despite being Mewtwo's signature move, it was introduced in Generation V, in which Mewtwo could not be obtained except by Poké Transfer or Nintendo events.
* In Pokémon Rumble Blast, the charging animation of this move is similar to the animation of a Pokémon charging up a healing move.
* Psystrike has the same description text as Psyshock.

Psystrike (Japanese: サイコブレイク Psycho Break) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation V. It is the signature move of Mewtwo.

Effect

Psystrike inflicts damage. Despite being a special move, Psystrike uses the target's Defense instead of its Special Defense to calculate damage. It activates Mirror Coat (not Counter), has its damage reduced by Light Screen (not Reflect), activates the Maranga Berry (not the Kee Berry), etc.
