Pokémon world locations |
The Beta Safari Zone is an area programmed into Gold, Silver, and Crystal Versions, which the programmers attempted to remove from the rest of the in-game world by deleting the entrances. It was intended to be located in Fuchsia City, as its Generation I counterpart was. In generation IV, it is replaced by Pal Park and the Safari Zone is moved to the north of Route 48.
Pokémon
No wild Pokémon exist within the grass of the Beta Safari Zone; however a few Pokémon can be found by fishing.
Items
No items can be found within the Beta Safari Zone.
Area
Although the entrances to the Safari Zone were removed, the warps still exist, so it is possible to enter the area. However, players should not save within the area without a teleporting Pokémon because the exits were fully removed. The area is rather small, with a few tiles of long grass, a small pond, and several other features. However, there are no wild Pokémon within the Safari Zone, except for a few that can be found by fishing.
Trivia
- This is the only Safari Zone in existence to not house any wild Pokémon within the grass, due to it being a beta.
- Several players have speculated that this Safari Zone is inaccessible through normal gameplay due to the discovery of Glitch City in the Generation I Pokémon games. Alternatively, the reason why the Safari Zone was never finished in Generation II may have been because there was not enough time to program the Safari Zone in properly.
