Petalburg Woods (Japanese: トウカのもり Tōka Woods) is a forest that connects Petalburg City to Rustboro City.
In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the first time the player goes through Petalburg Woods, he or she is attacked by a member of Team Aqua or Team Magma. The member intends to steal some papers from a man in the woods. The man turns to the player for help, and he or she battles the member and his Poochyena. After the member is defeated, the man will thank them by giving away a Great Ball.
