Mist Ball (Japanese: ミストボール Mist Ball) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation III. It is the signature move of Latias.
Effect
Generation III to VII
Mist Ball inflicts damage and has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Special Attack. It does not affect targets with Bulletproof.
Mist Ball can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 1 bonus appeal point if Calm Mind was used in the previous turn.
Generation VIII
In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Mist Ball could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
Generation IX onwards
Mist Ball cannot be selected in battle.
