The Crystal Pool (Japanese: てらす池 Illuminating Pool) is a large pool located at Oni Mountain summit in the center of Kitakami. It is one of the Six Wonders of Kitakami.

Geography

The Crystal Pool is a large area at the top of Oni Mountain. A small, man-made bridge has been built around a longer strip of water. Glowing crystals, like the ones found in Area Zero can be found at the bottom of the pool, rising upwards to the surface. When travelling there with Carmine, during the events of The Teal Mask, she mentions a rumor about the Crystal Pool where you can happen to meet people here who've have passed away. Briar refers to the area as "sacred ground" upon her arrival. According to her, the crystals emit energy of the same wavelength as Terastal energy. She doesn't understand why this is the case, but hopes to figure that out to stabilize the Terastal phenomenon in regions other than Paldea. After Carmine leaves, Briar also mentions that her research here could bring her one step closer to Terapagos, suggesting the Pokémon and the area itself may be related.

Sparkling Crystal Clusters can be found within the pool, with the player receiving one after being attacked by a Milotic during the events of The Teal Mask.

Places of interest

Lake caves

On the far side of the area, there's a small hole beneath the ground that the player can enter. It will take them to an underground lake beneath the river, where Pokémon such as Feebas may spawn.

A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here.
Probability weight indicates the likelihood that a Pokémon will spawn at a certain point in this location relative to others that can spawn there. A higher probability weight generally indicates that a Pokémon is more likely to spawn.
Pokémon with the highest or lowest level requirements may not spawn in every possible location within this area.
A bolded level range replaces the Pokémon's non-bolded level range after the player has completed The Way Home.

Special encounters

After Carmine's grandpa offers to fix Ogerpon's mask, the player and Carmine head to the Crystal Pool to obtain a Crystal Cluster, where a Milotic ambushes them. Milotic's stats are different if the player has not yet finished The Way Home, but it always has 20 IVs in each stat. It cannot be caught, and is coded to never be Shiny.

After it is defeated, it drops a Crystal Cluster.

Trivia

  • Although it's never shown to the player in-game, the special Milotic encounter is programmed to have a Ghost Tera Type, which may imply that the rumor about seeing the deceased at the Crystal Pool (as mentioned by Carmine) is true.
