The Amp Plains tribes are two tribes of Pokémon which reside atop Amp Plains. The Luxio tribe (also known as the Luxio clan, Luxray's tribe, or Luxray's clan) is a group of eight Luxio led by a Luxray that appears in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. The Electrike tribe (also known as the Electrike clan, Manectric's tribe, or Manectric's clan) is a group of eight Electrike led by a Manectric that appears in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. They are very territorial, and follow a "strike first, ask later" strategy.

According to Dusknoir, Luxray^TD/Manectric^S's clan was once a peaceful tribe, roaming around in search of a place for temporary rest. However, once they were attacked by a fearsome foe, and ever since they always "strike first for fear of being stricken". They reside in Amp Plains often, for it is cloaked by thunderstorms during parts of the year. During the time in which the player adventures, Team Skull takes Azurill's Water Float and places it within Luxray^TD/Manectric^S's habitat in Amp Plains, hoping for the player's team to be attacked by the famously territorial Pokémon while retrieving it. The player and partner try to hide from the clan upon their discovery only to find the action useless; Luxray claims to see any that hide while Manectric would prefer that they hide so he could sneak up quietly from behind. Realizing that hiding is useless, they stand up to the challenge, but find themselves surrounded.

After the fight, as Luxray^TD/Manectric^S uses a last-ditch attack that resembles Charge Beam, Dusknoir arrives just in time and manages to defuse the situation, convincing the tribe's leader that the player and partner had a non-malicious reason to trespass. Luxray^TD/Manectric^S decides to allow the group some time for their task and then leaves with their tribe. None of them are seen again during future visits.

• Manectric and Electrike replace the Luxray line in Explorers of Sky likely because Shinx is an available candidate for the Player or Partner in this version.
