Trivia
- In HeartGold and SoulSilver's game data, Nosepass can learn Head Smash via breeding, but no Pokémon that could learn it at the time were in Nosepass's Egg Group, Mineral, making it impossible to pass down the move without the use of the Rage glitch. This learnset data was then removed in Generation V, but brought back in Generation IX where it can also learn the move by holding a Mirror Herb.
- Head Smash is tied with Rock Wrecker for the highest base power of all Rock-type moves, excluding Z-Moves, Max Moves, and G-Max Moves.
- A Continental Crush based on either of them has the highest base power of all Rock-type moves.
- Head Smash is the only Rock-type move that causes recoil damage.
- It also has the highest base power of all recoil moves.
