The Great Eight Fate! (Japanese: ルネジム!水のアーティスト・アダン!(前編) Rune Gym! Artist of Water - Adan! (Part One)) is the 110th episode of the Advanced Generation series, and the 384th episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on January 13, 2005 and in the United States on January 28, 2006.
It's time for Ash's final Gym Battle in Hoenn but his opponent is a former winner of the Grand Festival. Can Ash get through the first round in a double battle?
Synopsis
Major events
- Ash, May, Max and Brock finally arrive at Sootopolis City.
- Ash challenges Juan to a 5 on 5 Battle
- The 5 on 5 Battle is separated into two stages: one is a double battle which ends once one person's two Pokémon are unable to battle and the other stage is a standard 3 on 3 battle plus any of the Pokémon who survived the double battle.
- Juan uses a Sealeo and a Seaking whereas Ash uses Pikachu and Snorunt for the double battle.
- Juan's Seaking knocks out Ash's Snorunt with a Hyper Beam.
- Ash sends out his Corphish.
- Ash's Pikachu knocks out Juan's Seaking with an Iron Tail.
- Ash's Corphish knocks out Sealeo with a Crabhammer.
- To start the standard 3 on 3 battle, Ash uses Grovyle and Juan uses Luvdisc.
- The episode ends with Luvdisc hitting Grovyle with a Sweet Kiss.
