Walkthrough:Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky/Chapter 26
A Stormy Night Once Again
After doing one optional mission, after the day ends, a scene will come up with a storm. Your partner is talking about how a storm is coming. Your partner turns to you and tells you how odd it is for there to be a storm, as it's been a long time since the last one. Because of that, it's been quiet for a good while now. So, it would be kind of "refreshing".
Your partner then discusses the big adventure of you and it stopping time...it already seems like a long time ago. You agree, thinking about going to the future with your partner...fighting Dialga...now that you think of it, it does feel like all those things were a long way off. Now that time has returned to normal, and peace has been laid upon the world...suddenly, you think of something!
It reminds you that, since time returned to normal, it became possible for everyone to evolve at Luminous Spring...everyone but you and your partner, that is, since you and your partner were told you can't evolve at Luminous Spring. You remember it clearly...it goes into a flashblack...
Your partner is asking why it can't evolve. The other voice that does not tell you who it is speaks up, saying it is influenced by the distortion in the fabric of space. Your partner asks what distortion and the fabric of space is. However, the voice does not answer your partner's question and "wonders" why that is. But your partner's presence is somehow related to the distortion of space itself. As a result of that, it cannot evolve, and neither can you.
The game flashes back to the present, and you are pondering over what the voice said to you. The both of you were told there was a distortion in the fabric of space that prevented the two of you from evolving. Still, though...what does "a distortion in the fabric of space" mean? Time may be back to normal, but things are still whack in some places.
Suddenly, there's a flash of lightning (which your partner notes). Your partner turns back to you and tells you that the storm is probably getting closer. So, the two of you should go to sleep, and your partner says good night.
The Mysterious Shadow of an unknown Pokémon
The "unknown Pokémon" is standing in the rain, talking to itself about how this is proceeding nicely. Apparently, it's in a forest, as it talks about how the distortion in space is growing. The distortion of space and dimensions itself expanding is apparently pleasurable, to it, at least. Its own power will be amplified! Apparently, this Pokémon has failed to destroy time, but things will be different now.
Suddenly, the Pokémon mentions that a Pokémon called Cresselia is coming...apparently, she's a persistent pest! It must not be caught...ever!
There's another flash of lightning and the mysterious Pokémon disappears. Cresselia then arrives, but it's too late. Apparently "he" got away again. That's the closest Cresselia has ever gotten. But apparently, he always slips away. It may be impossible to catch him. No. Cresselia cannot give up. She has to catch him. And the fabric of space being distorted like this has to halt! Before it accelerates further! Before the world is turned to turmoil...she's got to do whatever it takes. She must stop Darkrai!
When you and your partner wake up, your partner will mention how the storm cleared up. Here goes another good day of exploring!
The Dreams
After a day passes, the game shows you and your partner, apparently in deep slumber. Then, the game shows your dream!
There is a screen similar to the one when you took your quiz at the beginning of the game. Your wondering to yourself if this is a dream. Oh? Someone else is in your dream. It's Cresselia, although you don't know that (yet). Cresselia introduces herself to you, and you brood over her name. Cresselia begins to tell you something...
Your...your very existence is...pushing the world toward ruin. You are extremely surprised by this, and ask how you are doing that. The answer appears to be simple--because you exist in this world. A flash, and Cresselia repeats what she said. Another flash, she says that the world...will be...another flash, and she completes her sentence--the world will be destroyed! Two flashes, and you wake up.
You wake up, gasping for breath. You're asking yourself what that was. You turn to your partner and note that it's asleep. You try to convince yourself that was a dream, but it's a strange one. Well, there's nothing you can do about that. It's not even dawn yet, so you decide to get more sleep.
Dream Number 2
After yet another day passes, the game will show your dream again. ...Again? Are you dreaming again? Oh, someone's coming...isn't that...Cresselia? You then ask Cresselia to explain more on what she said last time. You recount that she said that your existence is directing the world towards destruction. What did she mean by that?
She begins to explain...you are a human that came from the future. You, apparently, don't belong in this world. That is what creating the distortion in the fabric of space. You are surprised to hear that. Cresselia disregards your feelings and explains more--if the distortion of space were to expand...the world will get destructed.
You think about it for a moment. You are...a presence that must not exist in this world! Cresselia appears to be disappearing, but she ignores this and goes on--you...must...not...be...here...As Cresselia begins to disappear, you tell her to wait and tell you more, but she disappears. You can't...you're fading away...
The next morning...
Your partner is trying to wake you up, but you're in deep sleep. It's morning already! You shake a bit, then wake up, and groan for a while. Your partner notes that you are awake and stops attempting to wake you up--it goes to the side of the bluff and looks out--another great weather day! You're not listening to this weather report, however, and thinking about your second dream. It felt realistic, though, not like a dream. You were told that you can't exist in this world. In your dream...Cresselia said...if the distortion of fabric in space spreads, the world will be destroyed.
After thinking for a moment, you suddenly remember--you've heard the "distortion of space" before! Then, the game switches back to the flashback when you were at Luminous Spring.
The game reverts back to the present, and you're thinking about how you were somehow connected to the distortion of space. You heard that in Luminous Spring. You're thinking so much, you don't notice your partner turn to face you. But, anyway, in that case...what you heard about your existence ruining the world...maybe it's true. Merely by existing here, you may be the cause of the world's ruin. Is that why you're here-?
Your partner walks towards you, ending your thinking moment, and wonders why you're "daydreaming". It's not like you. Come on, let's see that energy bounce off you! You note that your partner is a bit more peppy than usual...but maybe it's right. Maybe, you really aren't the destruction of the world! There's no point in feeling sorry for yourself, after all. You nod and agree, and your partner says that's the ___ it knows. Let's make it another good day!
When you get out of the bluff, Bidoof comes running to you, telling you to hold up. He is happy that he caught up with you, he thought you were all out exploring...but that's not why he came here. Your partner asks what's wrong. There's trouble! Little Azurill...little Azurill is in trouble! Both of you are surprised, and Bidoof explains that they brought Azurill to the guild. The both of you hurry on, with Bidoof.
Azurill's Slumber
The two of you run in in where you and your partner used to sleep. Your partner quickly calls his name and asks the guild if he's alright. Sunflora responds, saying there appears to be no danger in his life, but...Sunflora can't bring herself to complete the sentence. Your partner asks what happened to him. Marill responds, saying he's been sleeping and sleeping and hasn't been waking up. Your partner is surprised he won't wake up. Marill said he's attempted to wake him up many ties, but he's always asleep. Marill got worried, so he brought him to the guild.
Azurill mumbles a bit in his sleep, and your partner notes that he appears to be tormented by something. Marill explains he's been like that the whole time he's been asleep, always like he's suffering, and Marill wonders if Azurill is having a bad dream. Corphish says that could be a good idea. Azurill is tossing and turning, and appears to be having a nightmare. Your partner, knowing how smart Chatot is asks him if he knows how to wake Azurill. For the first time, Chatot is fresh out of ideas. To be locked in a nightmare, to be unable to wake for days on end...he's never heard of such a thing. Chimecho says that, since he's asleep, she can't feed him any berries. All of the guild members are at their wit's end trying to find the cure.
Corphish asks who'd know how to cure such a thing, and everyone thinks for a while. After a moment, Bidoof speaks up. Everyone turns to him. Bidoof's been thinking...if no one can make the nightmare go away...he's been wondering what kind of nightmare it might be. Maybe they can figure out why Azurill isn't waking up. Everyone gets surprised, and Loudred says that they should look into Azurill's dream. How do they do THAT?! Look inside a dream? That's near impossible! Bidoof is slightly abashed. But Chatot speaks up...actually, it might be possible.
Everyone looks at him, surprised. Corphish asks how to do it. Chatot speaks the answer so simply--you find Drowzee. If anyone can do it, Drowzee can. Your partner wonders for a moment, then recognizes the name to be the name of a criminal.
Yeah, that's him! Drowzee...he's that outlaw, the first one you ever caught! But still...your partner turns to Chatot wondering why Drowzee. Chatot explains that this is just a rumor, but everyone says that Drowzee has the ability to enter others' dreams. Your partner asks if he can really enter dreams, but Chatot puts that one off by saying it's a rumor--he can't vouch for the truth. However, it's still possible.
Your partner now get's it...so if you were to ask Drowzee...maybe he'll get rid of Azurill's nightmare! Your partner then turns to Deputy Magnemite, and asks him what became of Drowzee when he arrested him. Zzzt! Drowzee was subjected to "intense grilling" by Officer Magnezone. After that, Drowzee expressed remorse and vowed never to break the law again. So they released him. Corphish jumps, and asks whether he really straightened out. It sounds really sketchy. Sunflora tells Corphish there's no time to quibbling over that. Sunflora gets back in the conversation and asks where Drowzee is now. Zzt! He has gone away to cleanse his mind and spirit. In fact, he stated that he will study self-discipline on Mt. Travail.
Chimecho repeats, and then says that Mt. Travail would be in a mountainous region. Your partner agrees and says that's where Drowzee would be now. The two of you have to go! Off to Mt. Travail! Marill is half pleased, half worried...but your partner says that they'll come back with Drowzee. Marill is slightly happy...the two of you always, always help them...Marill then thanks you. Wigglytuff speaks up for the first time, saying it's decided--they'll leave this mission to Team ____!
Mt. Travail
As its name suggests, Mt. Travail has a bunch of Fighting-types and is 19 floors long.
Mt. Travail is somewhat of a special place, as on ground you'll only find money, Geo Pebble, some Berries, Seeds and Max/Mix Elixir. In fact, most of the items on the ground are lookalike items added in Sky, so it was even more restrictive. On the other hand, Mt. Travail still has the nerfed post-game Kecleon Shops that Explorers of Sky gets. This is also the first dungeon in a while to have Hidden Stairs, where the items are a bit more generous. Also, there's only really 6 specific traps here, all of which exist to make your life a pain.
Do keep in mind that you cannot bring any of your team members the first time around, only yourself and the partner. This also means you cannot recruit anyone here the first time around, and there are some hard hitters around here.
Once you reach the top, your partner will notice Drowzee, far off into the distance. He's staring at the sea, and your partner interrupts this quiet meditation. Drowzee turns around and is surprised to see the two of you back. He asks what you came here for. Thinking that you're here to arrest him again, explains that he's "kept his nose clean" and has "stayed out of his life of crime".
Your partner tells him to wait up and explains that the two of you are not here to arrest him--the two of you are here for his help. Drowzee is confused, wondering why anyone want or even need his help. Your partner says yes to him and asks him if he remembers Azurill. The Azurill has been locked in sleep and won't wake up. Drowzee suddenly remembers and calls Azurill "a little tyke". Your partner ignores this and says that no one knows why he won't wake up. That's when you heard from Chatot that Drowzee can (possibly) enter dreams. That's why the two of you have searched for him.
Drowzee thinks for a moment, and your partner asks Drowzee if he will help you. He is silent, then turns away from the two of you, thinking about the rotten thing he'd done to Azurill back then. He doesn't know if doing this would ever make up for it, but...if it would help Azurill, even a little...he doesn't know how useful he'll be, but, he'll help you, if you let him. Drowzee tells you not to waste any time, and that the three of you--you, your partner, and him--have to go quickly.

A lot of Pokémon found here were also seen at Sky Peak, just at slightly lower levels. Some of these were found only here in Time and Darkness.
- Fearow/Marowak/Hitmonchan/Furret/Ursaring/Shedinja/Bibarel: Last seen in Sky Peak. Hitmonchan can now have Detect in its moveset.
- Mankey/Primeape: Primeape was last seen at Sky Peak, but this is the only place with Mankey. Mankey does not learn Rage and it has Covet instead of Fling, so it might try to steal your held items.
- Kangaskhan: B IQ group. The species of the good ol' Auntie Kangaskhan. Learns STAB multihit in Comet Punch, Bite, Endure and Reversal, Double Hit, and Sucker Punch via level-up. Can be taught Focus Punch, Water Pulse, Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Dig, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Focus Blast and Cut via the machines, a quite wide variety. Has Early Bird to wake up from sleep earlier and Scrappy to hit Ghost-types with STAB for more damage. Kangaskhan's exclusive item makes Hidden Stairs more likely to appear.
- Mr. Mime/Tyrogue/Medicham: Last seen in the optional Lost Wilderness.
- Sentret: Last seen in the optional Shimmer Hill.
- Ledyba/Ledian: Last seen in the optional Midnight Forest.
- Scizor: D IQ group. Evolution of Scyther found in Mystifying Forest and few other optional dungeosn, as well as the species of legendary explorer you rescued earlier. Learns Bullet Punch, Metal Claw, Iron Defense and Iron Head instead of Vacuum Wave, Wing Attack, Double Team and Air Slash, respectively. Notably, its Feint was moved to being a Lv. 1 move. It can also learn the ever-so strong Silver Wind as a TM.
- Heracross: C IQ group. Learns Endure, Counter, Reversal, Feint via level-up, among other things. Can be taught Focus Punch, Dig, Focus Blast and Cut via TM/HM. Its exclusive items makes it ignore Reflect and Light Screen, not exactly a useful thing.
- Meditite: Last seen in the optional Final Maze and Lost Wilderness.
- Onix: Basic stage of the Steelix found in the Sky Stairway of Seven Treasures. It doesn't learn the elemental fangs and has Sand Tomb instead of Crunch. It also can't learn Dark Pulse via TM unlike Steelix.

Back at the Guild
You, your partner, Marill, and Drowzee are surrounding Azurill as it stays on the bed it was on. While Drowzee examines Azurill, your partner asks how it is, and asks if he can do something. Drowzee ignores both questions and explains that he wants you to get stocked up for an exploration. When you're all ready, he'll send you on an exploration of...Azurill's dream.
The rest of you are surprised, and your partner claims that that means...! Drowzee nods, saying that it is possible to enter Azurill's dream. Your partner then gets very excited and says to Marill that they can solve the mystery of the never ending nightmare! Marill says it's great, but Drowzee intervenes and says that he wants you to be careful when you go inside Azurill's dream. There's something rotten about this dream...he has a feeling that something has gone bad or wrong.
Your partner is suddenly brought down and says the two of you will be on guard. One more thing--he only wants the two of you to go and enter the dream. He'd prefer to go as well, but...in all honesty, at his skill level, he'll only slow you down. He's sorry he couldn't do more, but...it's alright, your partner says, saying that sending them into the dream is good enough. Your partner thanks Drowzee and says that they'll get ready to go.
After the incident with Drowzee at the guild, he asks you to enter the mystery dungeon inside the nightmare. Your partner isn't all too glad about this, but knows they have to do it in order to save Azurill. Plus, the dungeon could give you bad stomach pains (hint hint, nudge nudge...). But anyway, between bad stomach pains and a never ending nightmare, it's better to heal the unending nightmare.
The Nightmare
The main type here is Normal. Be aware of the Chansey and Blissey...since they give a lot of EXP; Blissey can easily give over a thousand! This dungeon is surprisingly easy, not too much to do here. There are 17 floors in total. You cannot recruit Pokémon here since they appear to be all formed by nightmares. Only you and your partner can enter this dungeon, and you cannot come back after clearing it, outside of a rare Friend Rescue.
Being a nightmare of one of the town resident's NPCs, a lot of enemies here represent someone from the town. There's also no food here outside of Berries and Seeds, which give only so much Belly; thankfully this dungeon isn't super long.
A lot of enemies here can heal their allies, among other things:
- Clefairy might have Moonlight to heal its allies, Sing to put you to sleep, or Follow Me to negate your attacks.
- Spinda might have Hypnosis to put you to sleep, but also Teeter Dance to just... confuse everyone in the room, including its allies. Uproar will also stop things from falling asleep.
- Lickitung and Lickilicky can have Supersonic, Disable, Screech and Rollout, among other things.
- Wobbuffet has the usual Counter/Mirror Coat/Destiny Bond shenanigans.
- Miltank can have Rollout, as well as Milk Drink to heal teammates like Clefairy.
- Chansey and Blissey might have Softboiled, Minimize, Sing and STAB DoubleSlap.
- Croagunk can have Pursuit and Swagger, as well as Sludge Bomb.
- Persian can have Screech and STAB Fury Swipes.
- Grumpig can have Psywave and Confuse Ray.

The Heart of the Nightmare
Once you reach the end, your partner will marvel on how far the two of you have gone. You and your partner look around, and your partner concludes that it's just one long path straight from here. Let's keep going a little more.
Even before you take one step, two black flashes disrupt you and darken the whole place. A voice speaks out of the darkness, asking how you got here. As if you haven't already found out, your partner shouts that there's someone other than the two of you here. Your partner tries to act brave and asks who the person is. Show yourself! She is...
A flash of blinding white light and Cresselia appears! You're surprised, but your partner asks what her name is, which you already know is Cresselia, but she introduces herself to the two of you anyway. You are surprised that she is Cresselia. It's Cresselia...the one from your dreams...she cannot fathom how you came here, but she finds your visit ever so convenient! She's longed to meet both of you! It's revealed that your partner has also been having those dreams, claiming that its dreams aren't just ordinary dreams. You are surprised by this and turn to face your partner.
Then what your partner saw in its dreams...yes. What Cresselia has told both of you in your dreams is real. The two of you are not supposed to exist in this world. You are surprised that it's not only you, but your partner as well. Your partner claims to have suspected this...that you and your partner have been having the same dreams. Even though your partner is not a human that transformed into a Pokémon, the reason for it not supposed to be existing is because it traveled to the future, then came back. And, unfortunately, it's causing the destruction of the world. That's what Cresselia said in its dreams, and you think about how you're not the only one having those apparent dreams. So your partner is just the same as you are...another existence that's not supposed to be in this world. Cresselia said that to your partner, too!
After a moment of silence, your partner asks Cresselia to explain something--your partner traveled to the future and came back again...and you were a human that came from the future...Cresselia said that the two of you are causing the distortion in the fabric of space in our world. If space itself becomes distorted, why will the world be destroyed?
If the distortion of fabric in space expands, the power of darkness will expand as well. Eventually...the entire world will become enveloped within a nightmare. Your partner doesn't get it, asking why it would become "enveloped within a nightmare". Cresselia ignores this and says all of them will be stuck in a nightmare, and asks your partner if they know where they are at this moment. Your partner tentatively answers, saying they're in Azurill's nightmare. Cresselia says that is correct. Azurill will remain trapped by the nightmare...and then never awaken again. This nightmare will eventually creep across the world. For now, only Azurill is affected by this nightmare. But soon, other Pokémon will be drawn in by the nightmare's widening "web". More and more Pokémon will fall into unending sleep. And, ultimately, all Pokémon will be locked in this nightmare without end.
You and your partner are surprised by this, and you think about it for yourself a little while. All Pokémon...but your partner ends the tragic discussion and asks a more disastrous question--what will it take to get rid of the distortion in the fabric of space? How can the space distortion be deleted? There is only one way to save the world from destruction. And that is...for you to disappear!
You and your partner are even more surprised and Cresselia says she's been waiting for this opportunity. The opportunity to make you disappear! You and your partner don't want to disappear! The two of you want to know more about what's happened! Cresselia asks rather fiercely if your partner would rather see all Pokémon engulfed by the nightmare. That's not...that isn't what your partner wants...your partner asks Cresselia if this is really true. If the two of you disappear...will the world really be saved? Cresselia says that the world will be saved. Because it is only your existence...that is driving the world towards ruin!
Your partner gets nervous as Cresselia walks forward and apologizes, saying that this is the only way the world can be saved. It must be done! Another flash, and...
A voice suddenly calls, ending the "murder" scene. Hello? ___? And ____? Where are the two of you? Cresselia is annoyed that her work was interrupted, saying that she was nearly finished. Cresselia steps back and says that she will see the two of you disappear! Of course, if you would rather you do it yourselves...Cresselia then disappears.
Your partner is relieved the two of you didn't get killed. Before you and your partner can get a fully-fledged conversation about the near-death experience, Drowzee suddenly enters the dungeon. Your partner is startled and asks why Drowzee's here. Drowzee explains that the two of you were taking so long, he started to get worried. He decided to be brave and come looking for you. Drowzee looks around, and concludes that there's something dangerous about this place. He decides for you, your partner, and him to go back to the guild.
Back at the Guild (Again)
You are suddenly transported back to the guild, with the whole guild surrounding Azurill as he continues to sleep.
You appeared to have told Chatot the full story of getting into the nightmare, as he thinks about how you encountered Cresselia. And she said that Azurill's nightmare is caused by the distortion in the fabric of space. Your partner agrees. Chatot continues on his recount story, saying that if nothing is done about it, everyone will be enveloped in a never ending sleep. Chatot asks if all that is really true, to which your partner says a gloomy yes.
Squawk! But if all that's true...this is terrible trouble! They've got to do something!
Your partner goes onto another topic, asking what Chatot knows about Cresselia. He knows about the Pokémon...but only from rumors. It's said that Cresselia only appears during the night of a quarter moon, and it's also said that this Pokémon can heal others' emotional scars simply with the gentle light from her body. Your partner sweats a bit and says she didn't seem as kind. There's one more thing about Cresselia...it's said that this Pokémon can also banish darkness. Corphish then speaks up, and asks for things to get straight--if we don't do something, the whole world will fall asleep? That means we have to do something now to fix the space distortion!
Drowzee then asks your partner if Cresselia said anything about the distortion of space being stopped. Your partner is surprised they came to the two of you with that question and slightly hesitates to answer it. Drowzee wonders why your partner is acting jumpy. Your partner lies that it wasn't about what Drowzee said, it was something else...so...a way to stop the distortion of space...your partner hesitates again, then lies that nothing can be done about it. Ah, that is unfortunate. Wigglytuff then speaks up, saying that they should look into the distortion of space together. If we don't, we won't be able to stop the nightmare from spreading!
Deep in Thought
You and your partner are still awake, discussing what happened back at the guild. Drowzee asked us if you knew how the distortion could be stopped...your partner lied! As the two of you know, there is a way to stop the distortion--for the two of you to disappear! Your partner just couldn't bring yourself to say it. But still...is that something your partner must tell everyone about? Your partner asks you what to do now, but you have no answer. In that case...maybe disappearing is the best thing to do.
Even though your partner said "let's sleep" you are still awake. Apparently, you can't sleep. Your partner is...already asleep, you think. But you have to wonder...you understand that the two of you are causing the distortion of space...but how it leads to the world's ruin, you still can't believe it. You thought it was seriously just something from a dream the first time around, but with the second dream, that's when you started thinking it was true. Suddenly, you're thinking of what your partner said when you couldn't wake up...
Your partner had asked why you're day dreaming and told you to show some energy. It flashes back to you, and you think about how your partner was unusually upbeat that time--but it had woken from the same dream! At the moment, your partner needed to act extra cheerful, since it suspected that you had the same dream. So, your partner tried to cheer you up. You know your partner had been frightened. But still...your partner was more concerned about you. Then...in Azurill's nightmare...what Cresselia tried to do...you felt crushed by that, but...but...that's why, you have to keep your spirits strong! Then, you fall asleep.
Yet another night scene arrives, and your partner isn't in bed. You then go up out of the cliff.
Your partner is staring at the sea, and notices you. So...you're awake too, huh? Your partner couldn't sleep at all. Can't the two of you be allowed to stay? Can't the two of you stay in this world? When the two of you fought Dialga at Temporal Tower, you fought even though you knew you were going to disappear. Because, even though you knew you were going to vanish, you thought that would save the world. If that's the case...maybe the two of you should do that this time too.
You feel bad for your partner, and think about how you fought Dialga. You think about how, back then, you were willing to disappear if it meant saving the world. You kind of feel the same this time too...but is this situation really the same? But something feels different this time. Your partner asks what you think. You then have a choice of selecting "Yes, perhaps..." or "I don't know...". Choosing "Yes, perhaps..." will reveal your partner has been thinking the same thing too, while if you pick "I don't know..." your partner will tell you you have to. Well then...you can either choose "But something's weird..." or "But something's strange...". Both of them are really the same thing, so pick whatever you like.
After, if you pick, "But something's strange..." your partner will ask you what's strange. You can choose between "Everything Cresselia said..." or "The whole space-distortion idea!". Picking either of them will trigger your partner saying you have to do it. But still...something is different about disappearing this time around. You know something is different...but what is it? You need to think carefully...
You suddenly come up with something--with Dialga, your disappearance wasn't really a choice. You've got to explain this to your partner, and you do. Your partner comes up with the conclusion that nothing about this is certain. Your partner agrees, saying nothing is completely assured. But...
It is a fact that you were a human who came from the future. And your partner did go to the future and then come back to this world. And it does seem that, because of the two of you, space has started to get distorted. There's no escaping the fact that you changed history...so this must be true...suddenly, the sun comes up. It's beautiful...another beautiful dawn. This sunrise makes your partner remember--your partner has seen the sun rise from here before, this isn't the first time. The first time...your partner was with Grovyle. You wonder. Remember when you, your partner, and Grovyle came back from the future, the three of you found home here? That's when your partner saw the sunrise here for the first time. Your partner remembered something about that first time...it's something Grovyle asked it...
A sudden flashback...Grovyle is asking about what happened when Primal Dialga and his Sableye and Dusknoir was there, cornering you. When all hope was given up...Grovyle asked what compelled your partner. How did your partner manage...to stay so strong?
Your partner didn't give up when they were trying to escape the future. Your partner guesses that struck Grovyle as strange. That's why Grovyle asked your partner...but your partner didn't know how to answer, your partner didn't know why it was brave back then. Suddenly, it's brought back to the flashback, with your partner answering. Well...your partner wondered too. It really doesn't know...but maybe...maybe it was because you stood by it. Grovyle wonders why you. Taken back to the present...
Your partner managed to be brave because you were always with it. That was when your partner finally realized that...so that's why it told Grovyle. Your partner returns to looking at the sea. Before the two of you lost Grovyle at the Hidden Land...another flashback, and Grovyle is holding Dusknoir as he squirms. Grovyle is telling your partner how this is it for him, he's taking Dusknoir back to the future. Your partner was surprised. Grovyle couldn't ever come back to the present again...your partner tells Grovyle that it can never take Grovyle's place. Your partner must and will. Because your partner can. The two of you are the greatest of combinations.
Back to the present...your partner is telling you how Grovyle entrusted it with his last wish. Your partner is...ashamed. If you're not giving up...then your partner won't give up, either! Your eyes shine in admiration. There must be something that the two of you can still do about this! There has to be a way of fixing things--a way that doesn't involve the two of you dying! Your eyes sparkle again.
Lapras's Help
After the events last night, you and your partner are talking in the bluff. Your partner was just thinking...it was time that was being destroyed before, right? And now, another disastrous event has arrived--the fabric of space is becoming distorted. The destruction of time and the distortion of space...your partner can't even begin to conceive of such things. But the troubles of time and space...your partner thinks they're related. You think about the possible connection.
Your partner asks you if you remember when time was breaking down. Lapras gave the two of you a lot of insight into Temporal Tower. So about the distortion of space...don't you think Lapras might know something about it? You think about it for a moment...well...it wouldn't be unusual if Lapras did know something about this. Your partner appears to have read your mind. Well, then, that settles it--head over to Lapras!
When you get to the beach, you and your partner are talking to Lapras. Your partner explains that the two of you are investigating the distortions in the fabric of space. Lapras thinks for a moment...your partner explains that the two of you would like to learn anything Lapras knows. Lapras thinks for a moment...your partner is desperate and asks if Lapras knows anything. Lapras is sorry to say he doesn't know anything about the space distortions. However...Lapras does know of a Pokémon that embodies space itself.
You and your partner are surprised. According to Lapras, time and space are deeply connected. So, just as Dialga governs time itself...there too is a being that governs the fabric of space. Your partner asks who it is. Its name is Palkia. This being is said to possess the ability to distort space itself. And, Spacial Rift is said to be its domain. You think about Palkia. Another being...like Dialga...so, if the two of you meet Palkia, the two of you might be able to learn more about the space distortions! Bur your partner finds a flaw in this plan--how to get to Spacial Rift? Can Lapras travel there, just like Lapras can travel to the Hidden Land?
Unfortunately, Lapras cannot travel to Spacial Rift, and he doesn't even know where it is. That is all Lapras can tell you. Your partner gets slightly nervous. Lapras apologizes to your partner. He's sorry that he's not much help. No no...learning about the existence of Palkia is a big help for you. Your partner thanks Lapras despite the lack of information.
Later...
So, really...Lapras didn't know much about the distortion of space...but he did tell the two of you that Palkia controls space itself...and that this being dwells in Spacial Rift. Palkia, huh...if the two of you can meet Palkia, the two of you would be able to ask about the distortion of space. Still, the two of you don't have a clue where Spacial Rift is. So, there really isn't any point in worrying about it right now.
That night...
You and your partner are sound asleep...before suddenly, the ground begins to shake! Tremors! A flash of blinding light, and suddenly, a mysterious Pokémon comes forth you! HE HAS FOUND YOU AT LAST! THE DEFILERS WHO ARE CAUSING...THE DISTORTION OF SPACE! Your partner asks nervously who this Pokémon is. HE IS PALKIA! HE HOLDS SWAY OVER SPACE! HE HAS DOMINION OVER DIMENSION!
You and your partner are surprised that he is Palkia. Palkia ignores your partner's questions. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE NOW! THIS IS THE END OF YOU!! He begins storing power, and he becomes a golden light, which you and your partner are dragged into.
You are suddenly in a dungeon. Your partner asks Palkia where this is. THIS IS HIS DOMAIN! SPACIAL RIFT! You and your partner are surprised they got to go somewhere where they have been seeking answers, though the two of you didn't enter in a way that you would have pleased. Palkia is very angry---YOU DARE DISTORT SPACE? WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION? HE WILL BE RID OF YOU NOW!
You and your partner are surprised. He walks forward, and the two of you walk back. IT'S THE END! He attempts to attack, but with you and your partner step back and ask what he is doing. But then...there's absolutely nothing behind you! Palkia roars, and the two of you fall down somewhere. Palkia is upset since he didn't get to kill you. However, there is no escaping him!
You and your partner are still falling, until finally rolling into somewhere. Your partner asks if you're OK. It looks like the two of you landed somewhere else. But this is such a surprise! Who knew things would turn out like this? Your partner doesn't understand why Palkia suddenly attacked you...Palkia seemed to be bellowing about the distortion of space. You think about it, thinking how Palkia seemed to know the two of you were causing the distortion of space. And then he attacked the both of you, but you don't understand why. There's no mistaking one thing--Palkia is trying to get rid of you.
Spacial Rift
The first time you appear here, you are kidnapped here by the master of this domain, Palkia himself. This means that only you and your partner will be available, you cannot recruit anything in this dungeon until later, and it is impossible to return to Treasure Town. The end of this dungeon is at 25th floor, with a second section after 15th floor.
There is no particular type dominance in this place; it instead throws many various Pokémon at you, some of which are the species of Treasure Town NPCs. Thankfully, there are many useful items to be found on the ground, so you're not completely helpless. Additionally, there's always an Escape Orb on the very first floor of this dungeon.
While unlikely for you to have a Key on you right now, there's a locked chamber on 9th floor of second section. The Treasure Box will contain the exclusive item for Rotom, Rayquaza, or Cresselia; the last of which you have seen, but cannot recruit yet.
Like with Mt. Travail, there are some threatening enemies here, including but not limited to:
- Chatot, who can have its signature Chatter, as well as Sing, Mirror Move, or STAB Fury Attack.
- Drapion can have elemental fangs, Bug Bite to eat whatever food you still have, Pin Missile for a ranged multihit, Scary Face to slow you down, as well as Poison Fang which inflicts bad poison instead of regular one. It also has Acupressure in possible moveset, which raises Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk or Sp. Def of allies in the same room (chosen at random).
- Xatu might have Tailwind to boosts its allies Movement Speed, Ominous Wind which hits entire room and has a chance to boost its stats, Confuse Ray to confuse you, as well as Night Shade, which just deals damage equal to its level to adjacent enemies.
- Gallade can have Protect or Double Team to make hitting it annoying, or Helping Hand to buff its allies attacking stats, as well as the double-hitting Fury Cutter. Close Combat is also somewhat of a strong move, though it is unlikely to show up.
- Kadabra can have Disable and Kinesis to lower your accuracy, as well as Psybeam as ranged STAB attack.
- Charizard can have SmokeScreen, STAB ranged move that is Flamethrower, as well as Scary Face or Fire Fang. It is thankfully not high level enough to have access to Heat Wave.
- Jolteon has access to Thunder Fang, Pin Missile, Double Kick, Sand-Attack and Helping Hand.
- Sableye, Dusknoir's henchmen, also show up here. Remember that their Stall Ability makes the AI only consider attacking you when one of you is near them! That means despite having access to Shadow Sneak, they will not use it until you are next to them. They also have access to Fury Swipes, Detect, STAB Faint Attack, Confuse Ray and Night Shade.
- Honchkrow, being a stone Evolution, only has access to limited amount of moves: Astonish, Pursuit, Haze, Wing Attack, Nasty Plot (which is effectively worthless since none of the attacking moves are special), and Night Slash.
- Magnezone has access to STAB Discharge, as well as Screech, SonicBoom, Supersonic, Metal Sound and Mirror Coat, giving it a chance to be annoying as hell.
- Electivire can have Thunderbolt, Discharge or Shock Wave; all STAB moves with range. At the few last floors it can also pull out Screech. Additionally, Motor Drive makes it immune to Electric-type moves and instead raise its Movement Speed, though thankfully it doesn't completely redirect moves like LightningRod.
- Chimecho mostly can support its allies with Healing Wish, Safeguard, Heal Bell, Yawn or Uproar, but it also has access to STAB Psywave.
- Gligar can have Sand-Attack, Fury Cutter, Screech or Guillotine.
- Toxicroak can have Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Sludge Bomb or Swagger. It also has Dry Skin, which means Water-types are at a bit of disadvantage.
- Tropius can have ranged STAB Razor Leaf, as well as Sweet Scent to make moves on you and your partner more likely to land (remember, many attacking moves in this game do not start at 100% accuracy).
- Although Porygon is low-level and easily knocked out, it still can potentially use Agility boost its stronger allies.
- Drowzee has Hypnosis and Disable, though it is similarly low-level. Its Evolution Hypno is however more appropiately levelled, and has access to other moves, like Psybeam or Swagger. Forewarn might also make it annoying to hit.
- Lunatone is low-level like Solrock, but it does have access to Hypnosis to possibly soften you up for a stronger enemy.
Thankfully, Monster Houses do not spawn for the first 10 floors.

Traps encountered
The game will spawn 7 to 15 of these on each floor, and extra in a Monster House.
Boss Battle
You'll reach the end of the dungeon, and your partner will notice something. The two of you walk forward...and it's revealed to be a dead end! What should the two of you do...? You can't go any further. Waah! Tremors! Suddenly, a flash, and Palkia reappears!
Your partner is surprised at seeing Palkia here. YOUR PARTNER AND YOUR RESISTANCE IS USELESS! YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE FROM THIS PLACE! Your partner is nervous. PALKIA WILL REVEAL WHY YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE! IT IS YOUR FATE...TO BE OBLITERATED BY HIM!
Palkia is guaranteed to know Spacial Rend. The other three known moves will vary between the following: DragonBreath, Scary Face, Water Pulse, AncientPower and Dragon Claw.
Like with Dialga, your fight against Palkia is a 2vs1, though it is more akin to the optional rematch, where only their signature move is guaranteed to show up. That being said, Spacial Rend is as dangerous as Roar of Time, being a room-hitting move that it gets STAB on, if not even more so than that move, as not only does it not force Palkia to recharge on the next turn, but the move has increased critical hit ratio! It might also possible have DragonBreath and Water Pulse as STAB projectiles, Scary Face to slow you down or AncientPower for the omniboost.
Palkia belongs a wholly unique IQ group. With 600 IQ points, it will step back after a missed attack and have its attacking stats increased until next turn (if it does actually miss), although under normal circumstances it has increased defensive stats and decreased offensive stats, it has increased accuracy but decreased evasion, it sometimes ignores counterattacks, and it of course has the Intimidator IQ skills, preventing you from attacking 1/3 of the time when up close. Smart use of Seeds will help in this fight as always.
After defeat, Palkia freezes and some random voice leads you into Palkia's dream.
Palkia's Dream
You have entered Palkia's dreams, and Palkia wonders why you are here. NO! HE REMEMBERS--THE TWO OF YOU BATTLED! So why is he dreaming...? Your partner explains that Palkia has been enveloped by a nightmare. WHAT?! HE'S...IN A NIGHTMARE! He roars angrily. This proves it! The two of you should not exist! GROOO! Your partner asks out of desperation for Palkia to hold up. Your partner asks Palkia why he wants to get rid of you.
Palkia thinks that you're pretending that you don't know. Apparently...YOU ARE DISTORTING SPACE WITH RECKLESS ABANDON! IF THE DISTORTION SPREADS, THE POWER OF DARKNESS WILL GROW! THE WORLD WILL BE DROWNED IN THIS NIGHTMARE OF DARKNESS! TO PREVENT IT...YOU MUST BE WIPED FROM EXISTENCE! Your partner gets very nervous, and tries to tell Palkia there must be another way. Palkia governs space and dimension. So...can't he correct the distortion of space himself? IT IS TRUE HE CAN...BUT, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER...HE IS UNABLE TO CONTROL A PART OF SPACE! WORSE STILL, THE DISTORTION IS AMPLIFYING! And...IT'S ALL YOUR DOING!
There is now only one way to save the world...to destroy you! Your partner notes that Palkia is saying the same thing Cresselia said. So, Cresselia was telling the truth after all...maybe the two of you do have to disappear. Palkia feels sorry for you. BUT THIS MUST BE DONE. Please understand...before Palkia can get started...a flash of light...
Cresselia appears behind Palkia!
Cresselia looks around, the notes that the events of darkness engulf even those place. Palkia moves aside for Cresselia to talk to you...you must be eliminated as soon as possible. Before they finally pass the point of no return. After everything the two of you did...was it all for nothing? Was all your effort...a waste? Cresselia asks if you are ready for your end, which your partner hastily holds up.
Your partner asks Cresselia if the two of you disappear, will the world truly and really be saved? Cresselia says yes. The world will be saved--it's beyond a shadow of doubt. Cresselia asks if you are satisfied. Your partner says a gloomy yes. If it will truly save the world...then yes. You note that your partner's will is beginning to sway. And so is yours...but is this truly and absolutely the correct course of action? Palkia tells Cresselia to wait...
Blinded by fury, Palkia attacked them earlier. But, upon seeing them now, they do not seem driven by malice or wickedness. In Palkia's dreams, Cresselia insisted the two of you are bad...but are they truly bad? You are surprised Cresselia said that to Palkia, in his dreams. Cresselia tells Palkia not to be fooled by appearances. If Cresselia gets rid of you now...all will be saved. So, just like the two of you did, Palkia met Cresselia in his dreams. But now Palkia is growing suspicious...something is very wrong here! All this is based on what Cresselia claims!
When Cresselia tells you she will be rid of you now, you silently tell your partner not to abandon hope. Now, be ready to die!
Everything becomes black, and someone is talking. Suddenly, another flash of light, and another Cresselia appears! You and your partner are surprised. There's a second Cresselia! A flash of light...and there's a Darkrai, standing there, in place of Cresselia. Palkia is also very surprised. The real Cresselia runs forward and attacks Darkrai, saying she was just in time.
Darkrai is very upset, and tells Cresselia to blast. He's been foiled--just when he was about to dispose of those meddlers once and for all! Cresselia does not respond but tells you, your partner, and Palkia to listen--all of you have been misled this whole time! By Darkrai! WHAT? The Cresselia you thought you knew (until now)...was not the real Cresselia! That false Cresselia was nothing more than an illusion made by Darkrai! It was merely a mockery!
Your partner is surprised, saying it. Cresselia is very angry at Darkrai, saying that using an illusory duplicate of her...is so typical of him! According to Cresselia, apparently, he never would have revealed himself, usually cowering in the darkness. It is unlike him!
Darkrai speaks up...he tells the two of you who's really causing the space distortion, who's the one shrouding the world in nightmare--it is his doing! Darkrai tells the two of you that you're more than welcome to try and stop him. Come to him in the Dark Crater. Cresselia tells Darkrai that he's not getting away...until there is a "black hole" and Darkrai disappears through it. A voice speaks out...Cresselia can never catch Darkrai...never ever. The two of you...he will be waiting in the Dark Crater. Your partner thinks about it for a moment.
Back in Treasure Town
Azurill has woken up, talking to Marill. Marill thanks "Miss Cresselia" for stopping Azurill's nightmare. And "Mister Drowzee" as well! Drowzee is surprised that they would think him as well. Azurill and Marill walk closer and thank him again. Well...it's the least he could do. Your partner brings up a new conversation and asks Cresselia what happened to Palkia. Palkia is at Spacial Rift, attempting to fix space right again. As the being that governs space, he is staking his pride on success. Because of that, it's likely he's not coming back to manifest here. Chatot is impressed. It's truly marvelous!
Indeed, Cresselia really does have the power to dispel darkness. It lets her dispel nightmares and awaken those in deepest sleep. Darkrai has the opposite of her power--to shroud people in darkness. Cresselia asks where you first encountered the first Cresselia, then answers her own question--it was in the dreams. Your partner says that's true, and you think about it as well. Then, later on...it was in Azurill's nightmare. It was still a dream. Then, the next time, it was in Palkia's dream...the first Cresselia...was encountered only in dreams!
Darkrai has the power to create realistic illusions. What Darkrai was doing was creating illusions so it looked like you were seeing her, Cresselia. It was all a use to get at the two of you...so that your whole existence could be eliminated. Everyone is surprised. Drowzee says it's shocking...but he stills wonders why Darkrai would want to try something so complicated. Cresselia guesses...that it was all out of fear of __ and __. Your partner is confused, wondering why Darkrai would be afraid of the two of you. Cresselia explains that he was afraid since you and your partner have saved the world before. But who was really the one who put the Temporal Tower in danger?
...It was Darkrai. Everyone is surprised. Your partner is very surprised that Darkrai was behind the crisis. Darkrai intends to shroud the world in darkness. And Darkrai failed to do that, since you and your partner saved the world. After that, he turned his attention to the distortion of space itself. If the distortion of space were to grow, Darkrai's power to create nightmares would also grow. What he desired was for all Pokémon to be enveloped in a nightmare. It was all Darkrai's doing...he was making the distortion of space expand. Your partner is surprised that Darkrai was doing that. Your partner is confused, asking Cresselia about you and your partner's existence was the thing making the distortion of space expand. Cresselia says that, though it is true that you and your partner are causing some space distortion...it is still extremely small. Added to that, your distortion space won't expand on its own. Then...yes, the space distortion has nothing to do with you.
For some reason, the sad music starts to play, but disregard that--your partner, teary-eyed, tells you how glad it is. The two of you are not beings that must not exist...it's OK for the two of you to live in this world...the two of you aren't unwanted. Surprisingly, you're teary-eyed as well. Wigglytuff speaks up, saying he doesn't know what the two of you went through...but...
It's just not possible for either of you to be unwanted in this world...if either of you went away, Wigglytuff would be sad, and so will all the other guild members. It makes everyone happy that the two of you are there to live alongside them! That's reason enough to keep existing! Your partner seems to be on the verge of crying. More than that, it's not just you and your partner...everyone here...all the Pokémon in the world...not one of their lives is without meaning! So never, ever think you're not wanted again. Stay full of cheer!
Your partner thanks Wigglytuff, and the sad music dissolves. Corphish speaks up as well, saying something about dishonesty, and that Darkrai's a "piece of work"! Cresselia tells Corphish that he usually never comes out in the open, and does his evil work in the shadows. If you confront him, he will also flee...that is how Darkrai does things. But Darkrai is doing something so unlike him at the moment...he has invited you and your partner to confront him...you think about it, and agree that's true. Wigglytuff speaks up again, asking Cresselia if she believes that he demanded you and your partner come to him for a reason...but what if it's a trap?
Cresselia agrees, saying it is a trap without a doubt. You and your partner nod at each other, and your partner tells Cresselia it doesn't matter if it's a trap or not--if the two of you don't stop Darkrai, he'll engulf the world in darkness. You have to do something! You're going to Dark Crater! Cresselia respects your decision, but she will accompany you. She has long been aware of Darkrai's scheme...she has pursued him a long time to thwart his plan. This is a chance she can't miss! Everyone wants to go...but Cresselia says no--she's afraid that Darkrai would be scared off if too many of you were to go, so only the three of you can go. Everyone gets upset, but your partner tells them not to worry and that they'll defeat Darkrai.
