The Preview Button
Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:26, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice sir, I am still learning the 'coding' in bulbapedia, so i am not yet very streamlined/efficient. Ill try and do that! AppelX (talk) 11:35, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
- Reminder: don't forget to use the preview button. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:51, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Using the preview button allows you to see what you've edited and if you still need to edit something before saving. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:49, 23 November 2023 (UTC)

Removing notice templates
Hi. Until you have familiarized yourself with the manual of style, please do not remove notice templates such as Template:Cleanup unless the article has been updated to conform to Bulbapedia's norms and conventions. Thank you. Landfish7 12:25, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello sir,
- I have read the manual of style a good while ago. If you could enlighten me which part of manual of style isn't how it should be, I might be able to place your comment. I thought I finished the Bulbapedia page for Dunkin, so the template would not be needed anymore.
- Thank you for your input,
- AppelX (talk) 12:31, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- 1.) 'generation 1' should be formatted as 'Generation I'. 2.) Articles should be neutral and unopinionated. Instead of saying something is 'bad', you can explain the specific issue i.e. "These cards are known to have defects. Examples of these defects include X Y Z". 3.) Avoid using exclamation marks unless you're quoting text that uses it. 4.) Articles should be written in American English i.e. you'd say "chips" not "crisps".
- These are just a few things. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me or another staff member. I'd also suggest giving the manual of style another thorough read and perhaps consider looking at similar articles to get an idea of how they are usually written. Hope this helps. Landfish7 12:42, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello sir, your input helps alot. I am not really a wordsmith, more of a numbers guy... so it is not intentional and try to get better at it, but it is small steps. I hope u see the effort I put in for TOPPS, Dunkin and the general Pokemon Cards pages. Most was missing there... AppelX (talk) 12:55, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Landfish7,
- I asked a friend to look at the neutrality of the text. He suggested some changes that i put through. Is it now solved or are there other issues? AppelX (talk) 11:37, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- I've adjusted the text of the section on the Dunkin Boomer cards page to be neutral. Feel free to use that as an example for how to improve the other pages. Landfish7 12:22, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Actually since the wording is the same I'll take the liberty of copying the changes over for you. Landfish7 12:24, 19 October 2023 (UTC)

(resetting indent)I've cleaned up the pages and removed the notices. I hope the changes made can help you understand Bulbapedia's style a bit better in your future editing. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask me or another staff member. You're also welcome to join the Bulbagarden Discord server and ask for help or advice in the #bulbapedia-help channel, if that interests you. Landfish7 12:53, 19 October 2023 (UTC) Appreciated a ton!! AppelX (talk) 13:03, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
Pokémon Magic Message cards
I've been trying to figure it out, but I haven't really been able to. What makes the backs of the cards significant? Just curious. MaverickNate 23:56, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- For these cards the backsides are not crucial, but after what i have experienced with topps and lamincards, adding those can make it far more easy for people to recognise them. So after that I decided I would always add both front and backside of cards, just to be sure. The extra work to add them isn't great, but manageable... - unsigned comment from AppelX (talk • contribs)
Previewing edits
Hi there! Thanks for your contributions to the Pokémon card page. Just a quick reminder to preview your edits using the preview button—this helps reduce the number of edits made in a row, keeping the page history and recent changes feed tidy, and also lessens the load on the server. If possible, consider editing the whole page at once by clicking "Edit" at the top, so you can make all your changes in one go.
Since you’ve been reminded of this before, I just wanted to let you know that if previewing your edits continues to be a challenge, you might be temporarily placed in Forcepreview to help develop the habit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or another staff member. Thanks, and happy editing! Landfish7 14:05, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello sir,
- Thank you for the reminder.
- I try to add as much as i can all in one go.
- So the magic message page was almost completely made in one time.
- When doing research on the web with a page so broad as 'Pokemon cards' it is hard to not have many edits over a few days time...
- So ill do my best to keep it in mind, but it is hard sometimes.
- AppelX (talk) 14:34, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- No worries! Thanks again for your contributions :) Landfish7 14:39, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
Those seem to be the wrong images, given it's depicting the Hoenn Pokédex rather than Kanto Pokédex as the names in the cells imply (also Grovyle and Sceptile are out of order, unless that's a printing error on publisher's side). Eridanus (talk) 09:40, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Helo sir,
merlin series 6 is still under construction, so there is no use checking that one already... Expect to have that one up later this week.- unsigned comment from AppelX (talk • contribs)
Moving pages
In the future, if you need to change the title of a page, please do not create a new page at that title. Instead, move the page by going to the menu/buttons at the top and hitting "Move" and then entering in the new title.
By the way, when we merged the page histories, your newest revision was left deleted at first. I have undeleted this revision. I also saw you attempted to restore this edit in a third page. I went ahead and redirected this third page to the main article. Let me know if you have any questions. Landfish7 22:55, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the info, then i know how to change names in the future!
- Sadly Thespeon accidentally changed the page before I was done, which made me loose all revisions i did lastnight. I hope to be able to do the work again today, so the carddass page becomes like it should be.- unsigned comment from AppelX (talk • contribs)
- Are you saying the edit was interrupted by the page move? Normally you'd still be able to copy your edit and paste it again if there was an edit conflict. If you've been previewing your edits, you can often recover them from your browser history as well. I would also suggest trying to make all desired changes in one edit instead of doing separate edits. Additionally, you can periodically save large edits in a text file on your computer in order to back them up.
- We can't always predict that someone is still editing a page after they've already saved their changes once, so I'm hoping these tips can help prevent future interruptions or losses. Let me know if you have any questions! Landfish7 10:56, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- Sadly Thespeon was not able to recover the tekst and my history did not contain the text i wrote... As i told to Thespeon yesterday, i will be saving the changes more often now, I do not want to have this happen again. He didnt do it on purpose, but i am not going to loose 2-3 hours of work again, by not saving regularly. He said that wasnt a problem. - unsigned comment from AppelX (talk • contribs)
- While it's understandable to save larger edits so as to not lose progress, I would still keep my other points of advice in mind. If someone were to come in and make changes at the same that you made a large one, you'd have to merge this change into your edit, which can be an inconvenience and can still risk losing the edit entirely like you experienced earlier.
- As a side note, please remember to sign your comments by pressing the signature button
or by adding four tildes ~~~~to the end of your comment. This signs your comment with your username and a time stamp, and properly notifies the other users in the discussion that a new comment has been added. We've gone ahead and added the{{unsigned}}template to your previous comments, since a signature cannot be added after the fact. Landfish7 11:27, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
