Principal Samson Oak (Japanese: オーキド•ユキナリ校長 Principal Nariya Okido) is the Principal of the Pokémon School and a major supporting character of the Pokémon anime in the Sun & Moon series.

Prior to the Sun & Moon series, his cousin Professor Oak entrusted Ash to deliver a Egg to Principal Oak in Alola.

In Alola to New Adventure!, Ash and his mother Delia arrived at the Pokémon School, which Samson is the principal of. Upon meeting him, Ash soon realized how much he enjoyed to make puns out of Pokémon names, which Ash didn't seem to enjoy.

In Racing to a Big Event!, Principal Oak competed in the Pokémon Pancake Race, in which he competed with his Komala and ended up winning.

In Getting to Know You!, Principal Oak's Egg that he was given at the start of the series hatched into a Vulpix. Principal Oak decided that he would take care of the Vulpix.

In Crystal-Clear Sleuthing, Principal Oak was one of the people whom Rotom asked in its investigation into Ash's missing Electricum Z.

In Alolan Open House!, he hosted the Open Day at the Pokémon School that allowed the students' family and other people to visit.

In SM028, he introduced the famous PokeBase player Oluolu to the students at the Pokémon School and later participate with him in a game of PokeBase.

Principal Oak is a pretty happy-go-lucky character, much like his cousin, Professor Oak. Just like his cousin's senryū's, Principal Oak enjoys making Pokémon puns regularly and more often than not, will turn his face or body into the shape of the Pokémon that he is talking about.
