Template talk:Legendarylocations

Improvements

So. I think this is nice and compact (a whole lot more than the Region one, though that gets used in, what, eight places?) and good to use in order to allow easy navigation between the various places associated with the legendaries.

Maybe the colors could be a little bit more stand-out-ish, but I dunno. What's everyone think? Is the 7x5 design good? Tom Temprotran 20:13, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edit Request

Why must templates be protected? Geez. Ruined World → Distortion World, please and thank you. — THE TROM22:03, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

With gusto! --((Marton imos)) 22:06, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Show/hide?

Perhaps we should make the template expandable so it doesn't take up so much space in the article footers?     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 04:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mozborder

I started a new mozbordered version... but it's going to to get huge and I'm starting to dislike it. Based on, obviously, Sithslayer's redesign of Template:Pokelist. Any comments? Table at User:The dark lord trombonator/Sandpit. — THE TROM09:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Giratina

In Platinum, if you defeat Giratina in Distortion World doesn't it also appear in Sendoff Spring? Should this be added to the template?--Tom 03:58, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Little Asterisk that says "Requires Activation by Nintendo Event".

Should it say exactly what is needed? Like Deoxys (Birth Island) requires Aurora Ticket, etc. I'd do it but it is protected... I also noticed that the Regi's say "Event Regigigas required", so what about the others? --Sivart345 23:27, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I copied the source into a text document and edited it (the way I would the actual template). Here it is:

I've updated it for the time being. I am working on a moz-bordered alternative though. — THE TROM21:59, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Cool, thanks. --Sivart345 20:21, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
OH WOW. I just now realized that I had spelled 'Japanese' wrong...(the Ilex Forest asterisk)...that was like 6 months ago... --Sivart345 20:51, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Celebi

The hover-over asterisk in the Celebi row misspells "Japanese". Redstar 05:44, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nice catch. —darklordtrom 05:51, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Since we're on this topic...HGSS Update cough cough cough Trom...--PsychicRider 05:54, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

HGSS Locations

Yeah, you should probably add stuff like the Hidden Tower and Route 25 locations to the template. Just a thought, of course. --Bulbafan 00:12, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm thinking this template's about to become one of those ridiculously unwieldy ones. Perhaps we'll do some modification to indicate something with the infobox. TTEchidna 22:07, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I hate this template. Which infobox: Location, or Pokémon? —darklordtrom 22:09, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
perhaps split it up by generation? -- MAGNEDETH 22:15, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I agree. Split up by either Generation events the Pokémon is found in (Generation I, II, III, and IV) or by the generation the Pokémon is found in. –MasterKenobi 00:27, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Region would be better seeing as the template is attached to location articles. —darklordtrom 04:07, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Shinto Ruins,too --Nechigawara-Talking 03:16, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
You guys still haven't added HGSS locations. --Bulbafan 00:47, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I did. And I did it on 8 December. Hidden Tower and Shinto Ruins. (And Pewter City today after I remembered the Lati@s event). —darklordtrom 04:56, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, you're still missing Route 25, so that's why I thought you hadn't yet. --Bulbafan 14:56, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah, right. Thanks. —darklordtrom 21:13, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
You're missing Route 10, you can catch Zapdos there in HGSS... Kidburla 15:53, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Shouldn't the Burned Tower be here again, since you can catch Suicune in it if you KO it in Route 25? --Bulbafan 05:02, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done. —darklordtrom 05:25, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit request

Hidden Tower needs to be changed to Embedded Tower. CuboneKing 22:15, 31 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Similarly, Victory Road should be piped to Victory Road (Kanto).Ryulong 12:03, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Isshu locations

Of course, since it's locked, I can't add it myself. - Chosen of Mana 20:36, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dragonspiral Tower

Reshiram and Zekrom can be found here under special conditions. TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 02:16, 4 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Roaming Pokemon Locations

The template includes Lake Verity and Fullmoon Island, the initial locations of Mesprit and Cresselia respectively. These two cannot actually be caught here. Should they really be listed? If so, shouldn't Unova Route 7 also be included for Tornadus and Thundurus? Pokemega32 21:17, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Those shouldn't be listed. I've removed them. --SnorlaxMonster 11:06, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orre Locations

Shouldn't the Legendary Pokemon locations from the GameCube games be included? The locations that should be included are Mt. Battle (Entei, Ho-Oh), The Under (Suicune), Shadow Pokémon Laboratory (Raikou), Realgam Tower (Entei, Suicune, Raikou), Deep Colosseum (Entei, Suicune, Raikou), and Citadark Isle (Lugia, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres). Pokemega32 04:16, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't think so, because they are part of Trainers' parties (except Shadow Lugia, so Citadark Isle could get on the template). --SnorlaxMonster 06:06, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Shadow Lugia is no less Grandmaster Greevil's Pokemon than the other three birds are. Greevil is behind Lugia during the battle and you are told that you defeated him after catching Lugia. I don't see why their being part of trainer's teams makes them ineligible for the template. These are the locations you can catch these Pokemon and they can be used in any Generation III game after they've been purified. Pokemega32 05:46, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This should be updated for B2W2. MatchMaster (talk) 16:24, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

ORAS Mirage Spots

Could the ORAS mirage spots with legendaries (Pathless Plain, Nameless Cavern, etc.) be added to the list please? Thank you. Miles (talk) 12:54, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

The locations that need to be added are Scorched Slab, Sea Mauville, Trackless Forest, Nameless Cavern, Pathless Plain, Fabled Cave, Gnarled Den, Crescent Isle and Soaring in the sky. Pokemega32 (talk) 09:44, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've installed this template on the appropriate pages, but it still needs an update. Could someone with the user rights to do so please take care of it? Thanks. Miles (talk) 17:50, 19 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

When? --HoopsterJohn (talk) 07:47, 25 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean by "when?" Pokemega32 (talk) 14:28, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Aether Paradise and Ancient Poni Path

Should Aether Paradise and Ancient Poni Path be added since you obtain Type: Null there? Pokemega32 (talk) 20:56, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't make sense to include the Battle Tower and Route 16 (lost track, but if Poipole is confirmed to be either Legendary or Mythical, then also Ultra Megalopolis) but not those; either gifts, or they don't. (I slightly prefer no.) Nescientist (talk) 16:52, 5 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Generation IX

Someone must add locations of Ruination Pokemon and Paradox Pokemon:

  • South Province Area One for Wo-Chien
  • West Province Area One for Chien-Pao
  • Socarrat Trail for Ting-Lu
  • North Province Area Two for Chi-Yu
  • And Zero Lab for Koraidon and Miraidon (surely, player first meet them on Poco Path, but officially are joined in Zero Lab in Area Zero) --Modikisha (talk) 14:46, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hyperspace row header linking to wrong page

I noticed that the row header for Hyperspace links to Lumiose City. Should this be linking to the Hyperspace page instead instead?

UnwokenOcto (talk) 04:54, 19 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah it was added before the location page was created. It has been fixed :) 4iamking 04:56, 19 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Deletion

I don't think this template provides any actual navigational value. In reality, it's just Category:Legendary and Mythical Pokémon locations but rendered in the form of a navigation template. Additionally, it's very tall, which makes it obstruct access to other navigation templates in the articles in appears in. SnorlaxMonster 07:51, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I would argue that it's useful to be able to have all the Legendary/Mythical locations for a particular game grouped together. So if the only issue is the height, perhaps instead of deleting the template completely, we could split it up by game? Storm Aurora (talk) 08:02, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think a category serves this template's purpose better. If you want to note the locations in some way, maybe the exising region templates can be updated to annotate whether a legendary/mythical appears in the location?--ForceFire 10:16, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Honestly just split the category I would think; doesnt hurt anything by having both as distinct categories. 4iamking 10:35, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, if we want these locations by region, splitting into subcategories is a good way to do it. I think it's important to remember that the purpose of navigation templates is to aid in navigation, not to provide information. If we want to group the locations together, that's the role of a category, not a navigation template. SnorlaxMonster 10:52, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
