Shall we change Team Poképal's purpose to "restore time" or something similar?(according to the PMD3 anime special.)--tobytse 08:58, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I guess we should and shouldn't Shiftry's purpose be to earn money doing rescue missions. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 17:04, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ranks

If you click on the ranks for some of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue, they lead you to the ranks page for PMD2. Should this be changed? Sparky 15:07, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Move

This should be moved to Team (Mystery Dungeon). There are way too many conflicting terms here, evident by the article's hatnote. "Team" should probably be a disambig instead. Landfish7 11:11, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense. Seconded. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:27, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support Also, why aren't Gates to Infinity and Super mentioned on this page? Pretty sure they have teams too. Qzekrom (talk) 20:46, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Was there not a more natural disambiguation we could have chosen from the source material? Both Rescue team and exploration team are listed in the opener. MaverickNate 01:08, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
"Rescue team" is the term used in Red/Blue Rescue Team, while "exploration team" is the term used in Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. (Likewise, "冒険団" is the term used in the WiiWare games.) Some of our other-language affiliates do split them into separate pages, though.
Rank (Mystery Dungeon) is in a similar situation, where the page is titled generically to cover all of the Mystery Dungeon games even though the titles "Rescue Rank" and "Exploration Rank" on their own would be unambiguous. Abcboy (talk) 01:21, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Rescue Team/Rescue Rank would be more recent, though it could be a bit of a PI/Gamer situation if they do an Explorers remake that brings back Exploration Team/Exploration Rank. Landfish7 13:46, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
The game mechanic itself is universally known as "Team" in all of the games (including Gates and Super), so I don't think it makes sense to have the article as it stands at any other title (not that the page covers much of that at the moment).
In-universe, they're not synonyms, they're parallel structures within the society of the game:
Titling it after a specific term used in only 3/11 games just encourages calling the teams in other games "rescue teams", and doesn't really improve the linking situation that much. Abcboy (talk) 19:38, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
That description is very helpful for the two teams. I don't think the page currently does a good job of explaining that. How do adventure squads fit into this universe? Trying to make sense of all of this, I'm thinking we would benefit from having split pages. It's hard to parse what context goes with which games/type of job in the games. Adventure squads are from the Japanese-only WiiWare games which don't have as much of a plot structure, but it's something like Elder Slowking asks the player to form an adventure squad/ぼうけんだん to complete jobs on the town's bulletin board which increases their Adventure Rank/ぼうけんだんランク. The team also has an Adventure Bag/ぼうけんだんバッグ and an Adventurer Badge/ぼうけんだんバッグ, but there's no plot point where the player actually receives them; it's effectively a find-and-replace from Explorers.
