Ladder (TCG Live)

The Ladder is one of the systems of player progression for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live. Rank Points are earned or lost by playing matches on Ranked Mode, which pairs games from this mode with opponents close to the player's Rank Points and rewards climbing to the first tier of the ladder's Leagues with the in-game currencies and seasonal cosmetic items. Rewards and Rank Points reset every month, and the player also receives additional rewards at each ladder reset depending on their reached League if they have played at least 5 matches during the period.

Point progression is based on the player's current League:

  • Nest League, Quick League, Poké League, Great League: +10 on a win, 0 on a loss
  • Mewtwo Tier (Ultra League): +10 on a win, -2 on a loss
  • Giratina Tier (Ultra League): +10 on a win, -3 on a loss
  • Ogerpon Tier (Ultra League): +10 on a win, -5 on a loss
  • Eternatus Tier (Ultra League): +10 on a win, -6 on a loss

Players will also not go back to the previous league they are currently on. If players win consecutive games, they will instead gain +13 for each win rather than +10. As of July 2025, players will now drop a maximum of 8 full ranks/tiers at the end of each season, as to opposed unilaterally returning to Quick League.[1]

With the December 2024 Season, an Elo system was added to Arceus League. Once a player reaches Arceus League, they will be set to an Elo rating of 1500 rather than having 550 ladder points.

Trivia

  • The design of most Leagues' badges are based on the corresponding Poké Ball variant, with Arceus League repeating the Master League's layout.
  • With the update of the PTCG Live Ladder for Surging Sparks, the Pichu (Quick League), Corviknight (Great League), Charizard (Great League), and Mewtwo (Ultra League) Tiers were all removed.
