Poké Ball, an Item card

Item cards (Japanese: グッズ Goods) are one of the four primary subclasses of Trainer cards in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, alongside Pokémon Tool cards, Supporter cards, and Stadium cards.

Item cards

Item cards can depict items from the Pokémon games, such as Potion and X Speed, or objects unique to Pocket and the wider Pokémon Trading Card Game. Item cards are color-coded as blue, as depicted on the card's design, Trainer type, and rule.

Items cards are typically played once to provide their effect before being discarded, although a player can play as many of them as they wish during their turn.

There are currently 37 different Item cards, though some have been released multiple times, or in multiple versions. Item cards debuted in the Genetic Apex expansion and the Promo-A series of cards, which were both introduced at the game's launch on October 30, 2024 worldwide (September 26, 2024 in New Zealand). Item cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket are usually of ♦♦ rarity.

Fossil Item cards

Old Amber, a Fossil Item card

Fossil Item cards are a subcategory of Item cards. They can be put into play as if they were Basic Pokémon with 40 HP and can be evolved into certain Pokémon cards. Fossil Item cards can have Energy attached to them, and if in the Active Spot, cannot retreat to the Bench; however, they can be discarded at any point during the game without the player forfeiting a prize point. They also cannot be put in the Active Spot or on the Bench when setting up to play, as they do not count as Pokémon cards while in a player's hand.

Fossil Item cards debuted in the Genetic Apex expansion. Fossil Item cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket are usually of ♦ rarity.
