Futuristic rare card (TCG)

Futuristic rare is a type of rarity in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, introduced in the 30th Celebration expansion. They are Full Art Secret cards that showcase Pokémon cards in holographic colors on a futuristic background with Energy symbols.

So far, Futuristic rare cards have only been printed in the 30th Celebration expansion or as promo cards. They can be identified by the Pokémon featured on the card appearing to have a metallic texture, surrounded by the Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Fighting, Darkness, Metal and Colorless Energy symbols. A Pokéball is visible in the background of the card art as well, and all cards of this rarity have the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo stamp in holographic colors. All Futuristic rare cards have been designed by YOSHIROTTEN and feature Pokémon ex. The rarity symbol for these cards is a colored star that corresponds to the primary color of each card; on Bulbapedia, the star symbol is colored half-teal and half-purple for consistency.

Futuristic Rare (Japanese: フューチャリスティックレア Futuristic Rare) can be seen as the cognate to this rarity in Asian language expansions. The Futuristic Rare rarity is denoted by the FUR () rarity symbol.
