(Japanese: ポケットモンスター エピソード:メガシンカ Pocket Monsters Episode: Mega Evolution) is a three-episode special arc of Pokémon Horizons: The Series that aired from October 10, 2025, to October 24, 2025, coinciding with the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. These episodes take place during the one-year timeskip between the Rayquaza Rising and Mega Voltage arcs and focus on Roy and Ult and their journey to master Mega Evolution, serving as a flashback arc that explores their past encounters with the powerful transformation. They are primarily set in Lumiose City in the Kalos region, with the Prism Tower serving as a prominent location in the trailer. The episodes will also feature Emma, a resident of Lumiose City, and Master Mayonnaise, a mysterious man in armor. The theme song for the arc is YUU, performed by Yuzu, who previously performed GET BACK for the Mega Voltage arc.
The arc was announced on August 22, 2025, and the episodes aired in Japan on TV Tokyo for three consecutive weeks from October 10 to October 24, 2025, and were released for streaming exclusively on Prime Video.[1][2]. In the Taiwanese Mandarin and Hong Kong Cantonese dubs, they were released as special episodes on the Traditional Chinese Pokémon YouTube channel from October 10 to 24, 2025. In the Korean dub, they aired on JEI 재능TV from October 14 to 27, 2025, and were released for streaming on Netflix, Wavve, and TVING on February 12, 2026.[3] In the English dub, the episodes were first released in the United Kingdom on BBC iPlayer on February 27, 2026, and aired on CBBC on March 18, 19 and 23. In the Indonesian dub, they were released on the Indonesian YouTube channel on June 16, 2026.[4]
