Bulbapedia talk:Sandbox

I didn't undertand,what's the meaning of this? User:Haruka uzumaki, 17 September 2007,15:10

A Sandbox is an area where users can test stuff out before integrating it into Bulbapedia. This particular Sandbox represents the entire Bulbapedia community; if you want your own private Sandbox, you can create one in your user space by using User:<name>/Sandbox. In your case, your personal Sandbox, if you choose to create one, would be at User:Haruka uzumaki/Sandbox. --Shiningpikablu252 20:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

AH! Undestood! Thanks! User:Haruka uzumaki 20:06,17 September 2007

Preview button?

Why is it necessary to edit this page? Why not simply have a blank page and users can repeatedly hit the preview button until they achieve the desired result? --ニョロトノ666 01:31, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ahem...

We might want to clear this. It's getting messy. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links

That's the whole point...it's the only one MEANT to be messy...I hope... ht14 19:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
At least ask the guy who did that giant chart of giant artwork to get rid of his work, it takes a while to load and it's a pain in the ass to scroll down. Gligar 01:17, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ranger NPC Templates

How do I turn these into real templates? --Manga-in-a-bottle 07:08, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Template:Ranger NPC and Template:Ranger 2 NPC should be fine names. Just click, edit and copy/paste/click. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 07:12, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

MJ Tribute template

Ok, I suck at this... a little help, please? --Manga-in-a-bottle 04:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Two things

First, the template at the top is broken, the P hangs out of the roundycorner. This needs fixed. Second, should we archive or otherwise do something to shrink the size of this page? it's probably murder on people on slow connections. -- evkl (need to talk?) 20:50, 14 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. We don't archive, we just remove old content every now and then. Old tests don't need to be saved (and anyway, they're in the page history). —darklordtrom 03:50, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Videos

There is a video in the sandbox. If videos are possible on Bulbapedia, why aren't they used more often in the mainspace?SeanWheeler 22:51, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Copyright issues and so on. We wouldn't want a company suing this site for copyright against the media. --Coolピカチュウ! 22:59, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Redlinks

Can we remove them? Are they on the wanted pages? --Abcboy (talk) 00:29, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Other people's sandboxes

Are we allow to edit other people's sandboxes or we're not allowed? --Cinday123 (Talk) 07:08, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unless there's something explicitly wrong with their sandbox (like a red link to a page that is definitely unneeded, clearly problematic things like racism and the like) there really should be no need to edit someone else's sandbox. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 07:19, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Userspace Sandbox

Does editing your own Sandbox in your userspace count towards the max 3 userspace edits rule? --Rikeo (talk) 14:45, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

It depends. If you are using it to make/test a template for the mainspace, then as long as you keep your edit number/frequency reasonable then no. If it's for the userspace, then yes. Note that these are just general guidelines, and specific instructions from staff members take priority. Werdnae (talk) 04:50, 1 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

my account

my account keeps on posting random stuff on sandbox and apperantly i cant see it??? - unsigned comment from Pikablu 2 (talkcontribs)

Please note that the purpose of the sandbox is primarily testing templates which may later be used in the mainspace. Please use the preview button rather than saving this page wherever possible. If you post "random stuff", it is likely to be removed. --SnorlaxMonster 04:09, 4 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Can we please empty the sandbox? It's overloading my browser.

There's so much data on it that I can't even do anything. Unowninator (talk) 04:21, 11 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree. We should clear it out every six months or something, except for things that are actively being worked on. Qzekrom (talk) 18:50, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Well it's been almost 4 years, but it finally happened. Thanks. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 18:14, 26 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Region maps

In Chrome (maybe other browsers? I don't use any others, so idk), the region maps for Alola stretch horizontally beyond the edge of the page, but don't cause Chrome to realize it needs to have a horizontal scroll bar. This means the Melemele and Akala ones are visible, but the rest are not because I can't scroll across to see them. Is there something we can do to either put the maps on separate lines or force browsers to use a horizontal scroll bar? Thanks. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:32, 24 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Permanent instructions at the top of the sandbox

Could a developer make the notice at the top of the sandbox irremovable?--Xanthipos (C@) 17:49, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

That's not possible. Normal users should just know not to remove it.--ForceFire 03:49, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
It must be possible because it does exist on Homester Runner Wiki.--Xanthipos (C@) 08:23, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

subst test

the subst test section was added by a now indefinitely blocked sockpuppet of an indefinitely blocked vandal account and was created for use on a different wiki, and as such can/should probably be removed. Landfish7 06:58, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
