Grass Energy was reprinted with new artwork in the Snivy Half Deck of the Japanese Beginning Set, with multiple prints each bearing a different number to organize the half-deck. This print was included in the Black & White expansion, having been previously reprinted in the Virizion Battle Strength Deck in Japan. It was reprinted as one of the BW-P Promotional cards and was awarded at the July/August Pokémon Center Open Challenge. It saw another reprint as a winner prize at the Summer Carnival in Tokyo Tower in July 2011 and has the logo for the event in the bottom right corner. In Japan, unnumbered reprints bearing their respective sets' expansion symbols were included in the Beginning Set +, Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Deck, and Beginning Set Pikachu Version.
This card was reprinted as another BW-P Promo, this time available in card packs given out at the September 2011 and June 2012 Gym Challenges. Again, the Gym Challenge logo is stamped in the bottom right corner. Further unnumbered but symboled Japanese reprints were included in the National Beginning Set, Everyone's Exciting Battle expansion before a final BW-P reprint with a stamp for the event was the participation prize for the Battle Carnival Spring 2013.
The Chespin Half Deck of the Japanese XY Beginning Set saw new artwork for Grass Energy, which made its way into the English XY expansion. In Japan, an unnumbered XY-P Promotional print with a Lawson stamp was released in the Lawson Limited Pokémon Coin Set in December 2013. A Mirror Holofoil unnumbered XY-P Promotional print was also available in special Pokémon Card Gym packs awarded between May and July 2014 as well as in Pokémon Center Crisis Battle packs from January 31, 2015. It was reprinted in the Latias Half Deck of the XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios. Unnumbered but symboled Japanese reprints were included in the M Master Deck Build Box Power Style and M Master Deck Build Box Speed Style, as well as the later BREAK Starter Pack.
A new print featuring lines of varying widths and shades of green was first available as a Mirror Holofoil unnumbered XY-P Promotional card in Japanese Pokémon Card Gym packs awarded between February and April 2015. This print was released in English in the Generations expansion. Another print, featuring the words "Pokémon Card Game XY BREAK" behind the Energy symbol, was first released in the Japanese Mega Mewtwo X & Mega Mewtwo Y Card Box. An embossed Holofoil version of this print with a gold border and no collection number was a prize available as part of the Golden Present Campaign, which ran from September 26 until October 31, 2015. People wishing to enter the prize lottery were required to affix the barcodes of eligible Pokémon TCG products totalling at least ¥1,000 to a postcard and send it to the campaign headquarters via mail during the campaign period. The prizes included 5 sets of 4 golden Moncollé figures featuring Zoroark, Chesnaught, Raichu, and Noivern; 30 sets of golden TCG items; 2,500 sets of 3 Holofoil Grass Energy cards, and 2,500 sets of 3 Holofoil Darkness Energy cards. Winners were sent their goods from mid-November 2015. A Mirror Holofoil version of this print was later released in the Premium Champion Pack.
With the 20th Anniversary of the TCG approaching, Energy cards with a design reminiscent of the Original Series layout were first given away in Japan to participants of Pokémon Card Gym meetings held between August and October 2016. Reverse Cosmos Holofoil versions were subsequently awarded at venues hosting the 20th Anniversary Festa. Players competing in the 20th Anniversary Battle event who achieved three straight wins at the 'Premier Stage' qualified for the 'Climax Stage' and were given 1 of the 9 basic Energy cards at random. The 20th Anniversary Festa was held at Toki Messe, Niigata on October 10, 2016 and at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on October 23, 2016.
