Spinel's Umbreon (Japanese: スピネル ブラッキー Supineru's Blacky) is Spinel's second known Pokémon, as well as his main partner.

History

Umbreon and Spinel

Umbreon first appeared in The Future I Choose!, where it appeared alongside its Trainer spying on the Brave Olivine.

In Quaxly, We Can Do It, Spinel sent Umbreon out to battle Liko, Roy, and Dot after they'd managed to defeat his Magneton and Beheeyem. Umbreon had the advantage of surprise, only for the battle to be called off when Lucius's Arboliva appeared on the scene, taking Liko, Roy and Dot to safety. This caused Spinel to exhibit signs of curiosity and mental instability, Umbreon showing concern begged Spinel to back of, which Spinel did.

In HZ044, Umbreon confronted Friede alongside Spinel and battled against Captain Pikachu in a concealed room dedicated to trap them. Despite Captain Pikachu's incredible strength, Umbreon was able to hold its own against him, only for Captain Pikachu to break through the wall with Volt Tackle after using Umbreon's Reflect as a springboard to gain more momentum, allowing Friede and Captain Pikachu to escape from the concealed room.

Personality and characteristics

Umbreon is shown to be a strong Pokémon, as seen in Quaxly, We Can Do It when Liko, Roy, and Dot noticed it was stronger than his Magneton and Beheeyem. This was shown again in HZ044 when it managed to hold of its own against Captain Pikachu.

Umbreon is shown to have a strong bond with its Trainer, as seen in Quaxly, We Can Do It when it begged its Trainer to back off when he showed signs of curiosity and mental instability. Spinel even apologized to Umbreon at having to send it out to battle people he considered weaklings. Spinel also shows Umbreon affection, petting its head while spying on the Rising Volt Tacklers.
