Are the other language logos (other than EN/JP) necessary?

The pages for every single other core series game on this wiki only has logos for the English and Japanese versions. Do we retroactively add the logos for the other languages on the other game pages, or...? Anzasquiddles (talk) 13:41, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

I would say we do add them. Not everyone only speaks English, and we do cover multiple other things’ names in other languages. Also, the page for Sun and Moon has logos in tons of other languages.--MissDelibirda (talk) 15:35, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

Noteworthy?

Scarlet and Violet are shades of red and blue, respectively. Does this count as a reference? Champion Averie, signing off! (Need anything?) 17:53, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

No. It's very clear from almost all the games in between R/G/B and now that those two are Game Freak's favorite go to colors.--ForceFire 18:11, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

Koraidon Miraidon Version-Exclusivity

Quoting the Scarlet-Violet website, "Koraidon is a Legendary Pokémon you can meet in Pokémon Scarlet, and Miraidon is a Legendary Pokémon you can meet in Pokémon Violet." (source). "During your adventure, you will meet a Legendary Pokémon—either Koraidon or Miraidon—and it will join you on your journey." (source). Are either of these explicit enough for them to be included as version-exclusives? Exempt-Medic (talk) 00:21, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

Still doesn't sound explicit to me. It could simply be referring to which Legendary you meet early in the game, the other one could end up being available in the post-game or something. I know it's unlikely but it's still possible. Plus who knows if Cyclizar might be able to evolve into the opposite Legendary under special circumstances. Landfish7 00:59, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

Additional Version Exclusives

Not sure if Austin John Plays counts as a reliable source here, but he really should. He recently just posted a video on all version exclusives in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. He compiled these from a combination of official media and his own gameplay. If you watch the video, he slowly scrolls through his own spreadsheet of all 46 version exclusive Pokémo

Reliable or not, we do not post unofficially released information until the game is officially out. Kai * the Arc Toraph 16:31, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

Online functionality

Did 1.0.1 truly add online functionality, or was it advertised as "required for online" by virtue of being the newest version at the time of release? You always need the newest patch to go online, and from what I can tell all the buttons for going online are present and functional (albeit with connection errors) on 1.0.0, including mystery gift. Mid-kid (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

It wouldn't have mattered. The servers were entirely inaccessible until just prior to the eshop release time, and by the time the game actually released, the servers already required v1.0.1 to access them. There was no window where the servers would have been accessible on v1.0.0, even if the game itself had the functionality. If LAN mode is discovered in SV, then one could test if the game can connect to a fan server on v1.0.0, but LAN mode may not exist in SV, and it's unlikely someone will develop/host a fan server capable of testing that theory. Atrius97 (talk) 02:02, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
I'm not sure what a LAN mode would prove, as such a mode doesn't require a server to begin with (only a hamachi-like proxy to forward the connection outside of LAN), and as such wouldn't support things that don't work in local play either, such as wonder trade, ranked battles and mystery gift. Local play obviously works, as does local play over the internet (effectively equivalent to a built-in LAN mode) on hacked consoles and emulators, as I've personally verified. I'm mostly asking out of concern for the version changelog, which mentions this update being required for online connectivity, when in fact, you always need the latest version for that. Metacritic user score

Should it be noted that the Metacritic user score is so low due to review bombing? --EthanLaw (talk) 22:35, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

I think a reliable source would be needed. Otherwise it just sounds like our opinion. Landfish7 22:52, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

This happens every time, and it's just a matter of time before the "spam" is cleaned up and the score goes back up. Mid-kid (talk) 01:40, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
