Psycho Shift (Japanese: サイコシフト Psychoshift) is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Psycho Shift transfers any non-volatile status ailment from the user to the target, curing the user in the process. It will not transfer volatile status ailments (Confusion, etc.), and will fail if the opponent has a type- or ability- granted immunity to that status, or is affected by a status ailment already.
In Generation V, if the foe has an Ability that activates in response to the status ailment, Psycho Shift will cure the user after that Ability is activated. Therefore, Synchronize will fail to reflect status conditions when Psycho Shift is used. In previous generations Synchronize would reflect the status ailment.
