This card was included in the Jungle expansion with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi, first released in the Japanese Pokémon Jungle expansion. It was reprinted in the Base Set 2 expansion. It was reprinted in the Japanese Hanada City Gym and Kuchiba City Gym Theme Decks. This print was included in the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR! for Game Boy Color.

EX Series

It was later reprinted in the EX Ruby & Sapphire expansion, first released in the Japanese Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip Constructed Starter Decks, with new artwork by K. Hoshiba and an updated effect. This print was used until the release of EX Unseen Forces, the Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr Constructed Starter Decks, which featured new artwork by Shin-ichi Yoshikawa. This print was used throughout the rest EX Series.

Diamond & Pearl Series

The first part of the Diamond & Pearl Series continued to use the artwork released within the EX Unseen Forces expansion, up until the release of Majestic Dawn expansion. The Majestic Dawn print, first released in the Japanese Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit, featured new artwork by Ryo Ueda.

HeartGold & SoulSilver Series

Poké Ball was later reclassified in Japan as an Item card during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, though the English prints did not adopt this naming convention until the release of the Black & White expansion. The HeartGold & SoulSilver print featured new artwork by Hideaki Hakozaki

Black & White Series

The Japanese Battle Starter Decks featured yet another new illustration by Noriko Hotta. This card was released again in the Black & White expansion with new artwork by Yuri Umemura, first released in the Japanese Beginning Set. This print was later released in the Boundaries Crossed expansion, and in the Japanese National Beginning Set and the Everyone's Exciting Battle collection.

XY Series

This card was reprinted again during the XY Series in the English Kalos Starter Set with new artwork by 5ban Graphics, first released in the Japanese XY Beginning Set. This print was later reprinted in the English XY Trainer Kit, and in the Generations expansion, first released in the Japanese BREAK Starter Pack.

Sun & Moon Series

Poké Ball was reprinted again during the Sun & Moon Series as part of the Sun & Moon expansion with new artwork by Ryo Ueda, first released in the Japanese Sun & Moon Starter Set. It was later released as part of both the Ash Half Deck and Team Rocket Half Deck in the Ash vs Team Rocket Deck Kit, distinguishable by a small Half Deck symbol printed in the bottom right of the card's text area.

Sword & Shield Series

During the Sword & Shield Series, Poké Ball was reprinted with new artwork by Studio Bora Inc. It was included in the Rebel Clash expansion, first released as one of the Japanese S-P Promotional cards with the collection number 019/S-P. This print was available in the Grookey, Scorbunny & Sobble Card Box from December 6, 2019. Another S-P Promotional print, this time with the collection number 054/S-P, was one of nine possible cards included in special packs sent to Event Organizers in April 2020 for distribution in official events hosted by them. This print features the Event Organizer logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration. The Rebel Clash print was reprinted in the Champion's Path expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted as both a Mirror Holofoil and a Non Holofoil in the Start Deck 100 and as a Mirror Holofoil in the Start Deck 100 CoroCoro Comic Version. An entirely gold Full Art SWSH Black Star Promo print with artwork by 5ban Graphics was made available in the Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection from October 22, 2021. This print features a large 25th Anniversary logo in the top right corner of the artwork. In Japan, this print was included in the 25th Anniversary Golden Box and similarly features an anniversary stamp graphic. Outside Asia, it was reprinted in the special Crown Zenith expansion.

Scarlet & Violet Series

Poké Ball was released as one of the Japanese SV-P Promotional cards with new artwork by Studio Bora Inc. and was available in the Energy Card Set on January 20, 2023. This print features the updated Trainer card layout introduced with the Scarlet & Violet expansion.
