(Japanese: ホウジ Houji) is a character of the day who appeared in SS007.
Houji ran into Ash and Go in Lavaridge Town and quickly became rivals with them, due to his egotistical and antagonistic personality. He later entered the Battle Frontier Flute Cup Tournament and easily defeated Go. He advanced through the tournament, winning almost every battle until he was matched up against Ash again in the final round and lost to his Pikachu.

| Hariyama is Houji's first known Pokémon. It participated with him in the Battle Frontier Flute Cup Tournament. Hariyama was seen defeating a Metagross before battling Ash, only to lose to Mimey.
