Froakie (Japanese: ケロマツ Keromatsu) is a Water-type Pokémon in the upcoming games, X and Y Versions.

It is one of the three starter Pokémon in Pokémon X and Y Versions. It is unknown if it has a secondary type.

Name origin

Froakie may be a combination of frog and croak.

Keromatsu is a combination ケロケロ kerokero (onomatopoeia for a frog's croaking) and 沫 matsu (bubble or foam) or 飛沫 himatsu (spray or splash).
