Violet City

Once you get here, you should immediately heal your Pokémon. Afterwards, head north of the city, for Sprout Tower.

Sprout Tower

As the name suggests, this place is dedicated to Bellsprout. Go up the first ladder, then round the corner, for the first battle. The Trainer three Bellsprout. If you chose Cyndaquil, this will be easy. Go down the ladder, then get the item near it. Then, there's another Trainer, with three Bellsprout again. Go up the ladder, get the item, then round the corner. Then another Trainer. Up the ladder, and now you are at the final floor. Get the item, then defeat the next three Trainers (with more Bellsprout). After that, you see your rival talking to the elder. He talks to you, then escapes with an Escape Rope. You can get your own at the back of the room. But for now, we're gonna battle the elder! This guy has two Bellsprout and a Hoothoot - use Template:Type2 and Electric-type moves for great effect. His Hoothoot is Level 10 - so be careful for your low-level Pokémon. Once you're finished, the elder will give you TM70 (Flash), useful for searching through Dark Cave. Use the Escape Rope at the back, and then it’s to the Gym!

Violet City Gym

TIP: If you got a Bellsprout in Sprout Tower, you can trade it for an Onix. That would be useful against Falkner's Pokémon.

Walk onto the platform, which zooms up to the Gym leader's floor. If you must avoid the Trainers, walk along the glass. Otherwise, walk across the normal platform! First up is a Trainer with a Level 9 Spearow, followed by a Trainer with two Level 7 Pidgey. Afterward, battle against Falkner, the Gym leader!

First up is a Level 9 Pidgey. Template:Type2, Template:Type2, and Ice-type moves are super effective. Afterward is a Level 13 Pidgeotto - use the same type moves on this Pokémon too. Once you’re finished, Falkner will give you the Zephyr Badge, and TM51 (Roost).

Mystery Egg

File:DPEgg.png As soon you leave the gym, Prof. Elm phones you, telling you that the Mystery Egg is ready. Head to the Poké Mart, and get your egg! It will soon hatch into Togepi, so you could train it, or throw it into your PC. Afterward, head out the PokéMart, go around the corner, then head through to Route 36.
