Character recycling is a term used for the Pokémon anime when a single visual design is used in multiple episodes for different characters, usually characters of the day. When character recycling occurs, the characters are generally identical in appearance, with only small cosmetic changes like hair color differing between episodes.
Examples
Tracey Sketchit
Tracey Sketchit debuted in The Lost Lapras. An unnamed lookalike later appeared in Tricks of the Trade.
Miss Priscilla
Miss Priscilla was featured in A Bout with Sprout. An unnamed lookalike teacher later appeared in Doin' What Comes Natu-rally.
Pokémon League entrance exam instructor
The Pokémon League entrance exam instructor was featured in The Ultimate Test. An unnamed lookalike later appeared in You're a Star, Larvitar!.
