Legend Plate

The Legend Plate (Japanese: レジェンドプレート Legend Plate) is a Key Item in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It is one of the Plates, which are associated with Arceus.
The following inscription is engraved: "From all creations, over all creations, does the Original One watch over all."
In the core series games
The player receives the Legend Plate from Arceus after defeating it for the first time.

When used on Arceus, the Legend Plate changes it to the Normal type, like the Blank Plate.
In battle, Arceus gains the ability to change type when using Judgment, based on the selected opponent's type. Specifically, it will pick the type that the target is weakest to (therefore prioritizing double weakness for dual-types)
If multiple types are equally valid offensively, Arceus checks among those types for the highest resistance (or immunity) against the target's primary type (for dual-types such as Palkia, that type is Water; for Giratina, that type is Ghost). If there is only one type left, Arceus becomes that type (as such, against Palkia, Arceus will always pick Dragon, as the other offensively valid type, Fairy, does not resist Water; against Giratina, Arceus will always pick Dark, as the other offensively valid types, Ghost/Dragon/Fairy, do not resist Ghost).
If multiple types are still equally valid in this way and the target has a secondary type, the same check is then performed with the remaining types against the target's secondary type. If more than one option remains after checking the secondary type, or the target only has one type (such as against a pure Fighting-type), Arceus's type will be selected randomly among the remaining options. Arceus can even change which type it is against the same target, as the most optimal type is recalculated every single turn.
While selecting a move, Judgment will appear as the type that it will turn to against the selected opponent if used that turn. This is similar to Unown's signature move Hidden Power.
Outside of battle, Arceus's type is reverted to Normal.
