Raticate (Japanese: ラッタ Ratta, German: Rattikarl, French: Rattatac) is a Normal-type Pokémon.

Pokédex Data

Leaf Green Version: It uses its whiskers to maintain its balance. It apparently slows down if they are cut off.

Name origin

Raticate's name seems to be a combination of rat and eradicate, meaning to destroy or exterminate. Ratta seems to be derived from rat alone.

Its webbed feet, body shape, and overall design are very similar to the coypu, or nutria, a semi-aquatic South American rodent.
