Aurora Beam (move)

Aurora Beam (Japanese: オーロラビーム Aurora Beam) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Aurora Beam does damage and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Attack stat by 1 level.

Aurora Beam will not be able to lower the target's attack if it has reached a level of -6 or a value of 1, or if the target has a Substitute.

Trivia

• Interestingly, Aurora Beam is an almost exclusive move for Template:Type2 Pokémon even though it is an Template:Type2 move. Apart from Smeargle, the only non-Water type Pokémon that are capable of learning the move by any means are Delibird and Cresselia.
• It is commonly mistaken as the signature move of Suicune, but is learned by many other Pokémon.
