In the anime
Route 1 makes its appearance in BW002. It is a forest route with a small lake; mountains surround the route. There is a nearby Pokémon Center and Poké Mart. Ash travels through and encounters Iris and her Kibago picking fruit. In a nearby cave, Jessie, James and TRMeowth ([[{{{2}}} (move)|{{{2}}}]]) are getting orders from Giovanni when they suddenly encounter a flock of Koromori. Ash attempts to capture a Shikijika but fails.
The next day Ash encounters a flock of Mamepato, the flock fly away exept one which Ash captures. Later Team Rocket steal Pikachu and Kibago, but after a long battle they are defeated.
In BW003 there is shown to be a nearby spa resort, a resort famous for its sand bath. The resort had to close down because of a group of Meguroko was disturbing the customers. There is also a mountain route which produced geysers that trapped the Pokémon living around the area. But with the help of the Meguroko they were able to save the Pokémon. The geysers flooded the valley and the spa resort reopened, now as a hot spring.
