Beak Blast (Japanese: くちばしキャノン Beak Cannon) is a damage-dealing Flying-type move introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature move of Toucannon.

Effect

Beak Blast charges up at the start of the turn, then deals damage at the end of the turn. Any opponent making contact with the user while in the process of charging up is burned.

The charging phase of this move occurs regardless of the user's status, even if that status would prevent the user from completing it at end of turn. For example, if the user is confused, the confusion check is performed before the strike, not the initial charge.

Description

SM The user first heats up its beak, and then it attacks the target. Making direct contact with the Pokémon while it's heating up its beak results in a burn.
