• Professor Oak's Pokémon Live Caster: Cubchoo
• The group running down a hallway while being chased by a boulder is a reference to the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. The statue of Venipede replaces the Fertility Idol. This is also the second time this has been done during the series, the first being Battling the Enemy Within!.
• Due to the use of flashbacks, every Pokémon belonging to the three main characters made an appearance in this episode, except for Ash's Palpitoad.
• Although the move has existed since Generation I, this episode marks the first time that Mirror Move is used in the anime.
