Weavile (Japanese: マニューラ Manyula) is a Dark/Ice-type Pokémon.

Weavile's height is 1.1 meters (3'7"), and its weight is 34.0 kilograms (75 lbs). Weavile can learn Revenge.

Weavile evolves from Sneasel.

Name origin

Weavile's name seems to be a combination of weasel and vile. Its Japanese name, マニューラ Manyula, is based on ニューラ Nyula, the name of its pre-evolution, Sneasel. The "Ma" in its name is a Japanese word meaning "demon".

Weavile may be based on weasels, but it also seems to draw inspiration from 鎌鼬 kamaitachi, weasel demons with sickles on their front legs.

Other Information

In CoroCoro it's been confirmed that Weavile knows an attack called Seize. This attack disables the hold item that the opponent has.

Anime Info

In Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, a trainer named Kid Summers owns two Weavile.
