Release information
This card was first released in the Japanese Solgaleo-GX & Lunala-GX Legendary Starter Set with artwork by Ken Sugimori. The English print was first released in the Ultra Prism expansion. A Full Art print was also released in the Ultra Prism expansion and features artwork by nagimiso. Both Ultra Prism prints originate from the Japanese Ultra Moon expansion, in which the Regular print is Holofoil. Another Non Holofoil reprint of the Regular print was released in the Japanese Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Premium Trainer Box, concurrent with the Ultra Moon expansion, and later in the Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Deck Build Boxes. Parallel Holofoil versions of the Regular print were awarded to participants of Regional Championships held during the Ultra Prism Season (February-April 2018). This variant has a Regional Championships stamp in the bottom right corner of the artwork. A gold foil stamped "Staff" version was also given to those overseeing the events.
A Mirror Holofoil SM-P Promotional version of the Regular print was awarded to winners of New Battle events held at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues across Japan, which featured different formats each month. This print was available at events using the September format, which required at least 6 cards from the Super-Burst Impact expansion to be included in a Standard-regulation deck, as well as the October format, which instead required at least 6 cards from the Dark Order subset to be included. All participating Pokémon Card Gym venues held New Battle events using the September format from September 7 until October 4, 2018. October format New Battle events were held from October 5 until November 1, 2018. The Regular print and another Full Art print with different artwork by Yusuke Ohmura were later included in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset. The GX Ultra Shiny Full Art print was later included in the Hidden Fates expansion. In Japan, the Regular print was also reprinted in each of the Eevee-GX Starter Sets, concurrently in the Tag Bolt expansion and Tag Team GX Premium Trainer Box, in both Trainer Battle Decks, in the Tag Team GX Deck Build Box, in the Sun & Moon Family Pokémon Card Game set, and in both Tag Team GX Starter Sets. The Regular print was available again in Japan as another SM-P Promotional card, this time Non Holofoil and with the collection number 335/SM-P. This print was one of nine possible cards included in special packs sent to Event Organizers in April 2019 for distribution in official events hosted by them. This print features the Event Organizer logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration.
A new print with different artwork by Hideki Ishikawa was released as a Yellow A Alternate card and was awarded to participants of Regional Championships held during the Unbroken Bonds Season (May-July 2019). A gold foil stamped "Staff" version was also given to those overseeing the events. This print originated from the Japanese Double Blaze expansion.
During the Sword & Shield Series, the Ultra Prism Regular print of Cynthia had seven variants released within the Battle Academy deck kit. The cards within the three decks (Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo) have a silhouette of the Pokémon in the bottom right of the card, with the Charizard and Pikachu Deck cards also having numbers so they can be ordered for a practice duel. One copy is part of the Mewtwo Deck, while the other two decks had three copies each. The numbers on the Charizard Deck copies are 21, 50, and 59 and the numbers on the Pikachu Deck copies are 24, 50, and 59. In Japan, this print was reprinted in the Sword & Shield Premium Trainer Box as well as the Charizard & Grimmsnarl VMAX Starter Sets.
A S-P Promotional print with artwork by Atsushi Furusawa was given to participants of Extra Battle Day events held at Pokémon Card Gym venues across Japan from January 23, 2021. These events utilized the Extra Regulation format (equivalent to the Expanded format outside Japan). Cynthia and all other 'B' regulation cards were rotated out of Japan's Standard format on January 22, the day before these events began. As such, it retains the Sun & Moon Era Trainer card layout. This print also features the Extra Battle Day event logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
