The Tag Team GX Starter Sets (Japanese: スターターセット TAG TEAM GX) are two Japanese-exclusive Standard Decks that were released for the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside the Miracle Twin expansion on May 31, 2019.
Information
Each 60-card pre-constructed starter set includes 3 different Pokémon-GX cards, one of which is a reprint and two of which are exclusive, including the TAG TEAM pairing that the deck is centered around. The decks include:
- Espeon & Deoxys-GX Tag Team GX Starter Set (Japanese: スターターセット TAG TEAM GX エーフィ&デオキシスGX Starter Set Tag Team GX: Eifie & DeoxysGX)
- Umbreon & Darkrai-GX Tag Team GX Starter Set (Japanese: スターターセット TAG TEAM GX ブラッキー&ダークライGX Starter Set Tag Team GX: Blacky & DarkraiGX)
Each starter set has particular focus on one type and contain a fixed selection of cards, which together form a numbered master set. The decks include a number of useful previously released Trainer cards, as well as some new ones, plus supporting basic Energy cards. Each set also comes packaged with 44 damage counters, 2 status markers, 1 GX marker, a rulebook, a player's guide, a coin, and a playmat.
The Tag Team GX Deluxe Starter Set (Japanese: TAG TEAM GX スターターデラックスセット) was also available from retailers on the same day. It includes a copy of both starter sets in addition to an original double deck case featuring Mitsuhiro Arita's artwork of the two TAG TEAMs, as well as two Holofoil SM-P Promotional cards: Mew and Yveltal.
