Yuu Nishida (Japanese: 西田ユウ) is a freelance illustrator who has contributed artwork to the Pokémon Trading Card Game since winning the Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix. Nishida's submitted illustration would be used as the art for her first card, Gardevoir, one of the SM-P Promotional cards. Beginning with Celebi from Shining Fates, Nishida has been illustrating cards on a regular basis. She also illustrated the booster pack artwork for VMAX Climax.
Nishida has been drawing every day since she was young. She began illustrating professionally in 2017, and works part-time as an art teacher at the high school she attended in her youth. She currently uses a touchscreen tablet and Clip Studio Paint to produce her artwork. Nishida became a fan of the Pokémon franchise as a child, playing Pokémon FireRed and watching Jirachi: Wish Maker. Nishida's favorite generation is Generation V, and her favorite Pokémon is Yamask.[1]
