Jigglypuff (Japanese: プリン Purin, German: Pummeluff, French: Rondoudou) is a Normal-type Pokémon. Jigglypuff is notable for its use of the move Sing, the sound of which can put most any trainer or Pokémon to sleep. This has frequently been used as a joke line in both the Anime and games, especially in Pokémon Yellow, in the Pewter City Pokémon Center. Jigglypuff evolves into Wigglytuff with the use of the Moon Stone.

Name origin

Jigglypuff's name is a combination of jiggly and puff, referring to its wobbly shape and ability to inflate itself. Many people have been unable to decipher its Japanese name, but concede that it may simply be taken from the Japanese word for pudding, purin.
