:Well, I did fix the trivia so it doesn't give that indication. But I wanna ask, is it really necessary to give examples of other eggs of the anime that have 3 evolutionary stages? To me four other examples (which makes it 5 in total) doesn't really make it special. [[User:TheBlazikenMaster|TheBlazikenMaster]] ([[User talk:TheBlazikenMaster|talk]]) 21:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm just wondering, now Togepi has appeared after the introduction of Fairy types, should we change the type templates like we did for Mimey or do flashbacks not count? Caught?

togepi couldn't be caught! it was hatched. and someone did that for the Misty's Azurill article too. --Moisesmorales 17:58, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

That's because of the limitations of the infoboxes.. Tina δ 20:05, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Togepi was never part of Mistys party it was more like TR Meowth then anything she never had a poké ball for it or anything it was just kind of there.
What? It was totally part of Misty's team! --Theryguy512 16:40, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Did it ever battle?C Is for Cookie
Yea, once or twice. I forget when, though. --Theryguy512 16:49, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

It battled against Ash in The Totodile Duel. Misty sent it out to battle Pikachu, because she knew it would never hurt Togepi. That's the only time I can ever recall it battling (it may have done so in its final episode, but I last saw that about four years ago and my memory's not that great).
And why on earth would you think that it's not part of Misty's team? I can see why people would think Larvitar and Haunter weren't part of Ash's team, but Togepi? --PAK Man Talk 16:56, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
I subscribe to the philosophy that a pokémon only belongs to a trainer if it is explicitally shown to have a poké ball. Meowth, Larvitar, Haunter, Togepi, Growlie, etc. were/are never shown to have poké balls therefore by my logic they don't count as caught.Bobtherandomguy 18:19, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
You know, Bob, just because they are shown to have a Poke-Ball doesn't mean that they are actually owned by the character in question. Take Brock's Vulpix, for example. It was caught in a Poke-Ball, and yet even HE stated that it wasn't even his Pokemon. Weedle Mchairybug 21:18, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Bob's point here was that if it didn't have a Poke Ball, it wasn't owned. Vulpix had a Ball because it was owned by Susie, although Brock took care of it. — THE TROM — 21:27, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually, Trom, Vulpix wasn't shown to have a ball until Brock took it into his team. In fact, the scene implied that Vulpix was actually caught by Brock, not merely given to. Weedle Mchairybug 21:56, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Move pic

Shoundn't Safeguard's pic be changed to a Metronome's one made by Togepi? I mean, Togepi is very well-known by its Metronome. -- RikkiKitsune 17:30, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Female

Now that Pikachu is confirmed male, Togetic is effectively confirmed female, due to a successful charm attack. I've edited the page. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 19:59, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Ehh, I've read the article on "charm," and nowhere does it actually say that Charm affects the opposite gender. Weedle Mchairybug 20:04, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Charm lowers attack for anyone, not like Captivate or Attract. --Psyライダー 20:05, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Charm isn't the same as attract, even though people think it is, although is what Charm does stated in the Anime? - Takoto 20:15, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Attract, Captivate, Cute Charm (note the name), Oblivious, Rivalry. Those are the only mechanics that use gender. In no way does Togepi's Charm attack confirm its gender. In the games, Charm lowers Attack by two stages regardless of gender. We have to assume that the move is also gender-inspecific in the anime as well. --Shiningpikablu252 21:50, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Uhh...

It says that Togepi is the only Pokémon that isn't kept in it's Poké Ball, but didn't Sakura's Espeon? I never saw it in its Ball. I'm going to remove that. Loghomewill 01:22, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Sakura is not a main character. —darklordtrom 01:26, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
I know, but it didn't say that it was the only one of the main characters Pokémon, it just said that it was the only one to have evolved. Loghomewill 01:47, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm confused. The trivia point we're debating is It is currently the only Pokémon that officially belonged to a main character despite never having been placed in a Poké Ball., right? —darklordtrom 04:50, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
This is no longer true because it is unconfirmed whether or not Iris's Axew has a pokeball. Ssbmelee99 15:07, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Redirect Request

Can someone make a redirect for "Togepi (anime)". XVuvuzela2010X 22:03, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Trivia: First Pokemon Team Rocket has ever successfully presented to Giovanni

I think it should probably be mentioned that Togepi is the first pokemon (the second being Jessie's Yanmega) in the anime Team Rocket has successfully presented to Giovanni, even if Togepi returned to Misty within the episode. Ssbmelee99 15:09, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Metronome-spawned moves

Hi there, just had a thought - could we have a section here where a list of the moves spawned by metronome are listed (when known)? I would do it but haven't seen this era of the anime in a long time.

Secondly, can I ask, why are Giovanni's pokemon listed at the bottom of this article? Moffooo 15:49, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm not really sure about the Metronome attacks, since they were random. But I'm not sure, like I said. As for the Giovanni thing, if you click 'show', you'll see that Togepi is under the 'rejected' section. I hope I could answer your questions. ^-^ Littlmiget123 16:16, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
It's done with Duplica's Ditto's Transform, so there isnt any reason why it couldnt be implemented here, we just need images of the attacks. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 00:49, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
Then the same shall be done for Munchlax. The regular Focus Punch and SolarBeam pics will have to be a direct execution--SandmanDP 01:04, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
We sure that it was Explosion it used? I just watched Pikachu Re-Volts. Togepi was in Misty's arms while using Metronome, so I kinda think she might have noticed if the explosion originated from Togepi. It had to be an attack destructive enough to generate an explosion, but subtle enough so Togepi would have been able to pull it off without anyone noticing. I'm thinking it had to have been something more like Psychic. Of course, this is speculation, but then, so is assuming that the Metronomed move was Explosion in the first place, isn't it? - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 20:55, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
I agree. It shouldn't be Explosion. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 21:37, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Adding to that, IIRC Butch/Cassidy's Drowzee was also using Metronome. Togepi's Metronome could have become some kind of protective move while Drowzee's became Explosion/Self Destruct/Similar. Unless we know for sure, it shouldn't be added. Werdnae (talk) 22:05, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Some things I have to say about a specific trivia.

This is indicating that Pokémon who don't evolve twice have have hatched from an egg before that. Wouldn't it be better if that trivia gave the right indication and just flat out says it's the first Pokémon in the anime that hatched from an egg in general? I have seen all the episodes of the Pokémon anime, and I can confirm that it is the first Pokémon egg in the anime.

I really think this trivia needs some rewording. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 21:16, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Well, I did fix the trivia so it doesn't give that indication. But I wanna ask, is it really necessary to give examples of other eggs of the anime that have 3 evolutionary stages? To me four other examples (which makes it 5 in total) doesn't really make it special. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 21:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
