Egan

Egan (Japanese: ヤケイシ Yakeishi) is a character of the day from the Pokémon anime who appeared in Some Like it Hot.

Egan is a Fire-type Trainer, and like Misty, it is the only type he wants to capture. More than anything, he wanted the Magcargo that was blocking the path of Ash and his friends on their path to Blackthorn City. However, the Magcargo was very powerful, and Egan was unable to weaken it to the point of capture.

He gained a rivalry with Misty. Both got into several arguments about whether Fire types or Water types were the best. Eventually, they teamed up and defeated Team Rocket using both of their type-specific skills.

Afterwards, Egan tried once again to capture the Magcargo. This time, he succeeded and gained a new Fire Pokémon. He said goodbye to Ash and the others as they set off to Blackthorn.

Pokémon

The following are Egan's known Pokémon:

Flareon
Egan's Flareon

Flareon is Egan's main Pokémon. He used it to catch a Magcargo. During the first try, Flareon was unsuccessful as Magcargo's strength easily subdued it. During the next day, another Magcargo came by but this time, it was a giant Pokémon. Using Misty's strategies, Flareon was able to weaken Magcargo and thus, Egan was able to capture it.

Flareon's known moves are Tackle, Quick Attack and Flamethrower. It also knows a move variation of Flame Wheel known as Flaming Tackle.

Egan caught this giant Magcargo with the help of his Flareon. After he caught it though, Team Rocket ended up stealing it but Egan was able to get it back. Magcargo then used its Fire moves to subdue Jessie's Arbok and James's Victreebel. Finally, with the help of Misty's Poliwhirl, Magcargo was able to blast them off.

Magcargo's known moves are Rock Slide, Body Slam and Flamethrower.
