Sleep Powder (Japanese: ねむりごな Sleep Powder) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
It appears to be a sleep counterpart to PoisonPowder and Stun Spore, as the accuracy, contest group, appeal, effects, Japanese names and animation are the same or very similar. They are also usually learned at the same level or in a similar pattern.
Effect
Sleep Powder puts the target to sleep.
Sleep Powder can't affect a target that already has a major status ailment.
In Stadium, Sleep Powder can't affect an target that has a substitute.

Pokémon
Butterfree. Butterfree flaps its wing above the opponent and blue, shining powder comes is released from them, instantly putting the opponent to sleep.
- Used by Ash's Butterfree from Challenge of the Samurai to Bye-Bye Butterfree. Debut.
- Used by Ritchie's Happy from Friend and Foe Alike to Present.
- Used by Lisa's Butterfree in Spell of the Unown.
Venomoth. Venomoth flaps it wings and a light tan powder comes out, putting the opponent to sleep.
- Used by Koga's Venomoth in The Ninja Poké-Showdown.
- Used by a Coordinator Venomoth in Staging a Heroes' Welcome!.
Venonat. Venonat shakes its body and blue powder falls out of its fur, putting the opponent to sleep.
- Used by Tracey's Venonat from Tracey Gets Bugged to Present.
Victreebel. Victreebel opens the large leaf on its head and a shining blue powder is released from its mouth.
- Used by James's Victreebel from A Way Off, Day Off to ???.
Bulbasaur. A sparkling, light blue powder is released from its bulb. Anything who comes into contact with the powder will instantly fall asleep.
- Used by Ash Ketchum's Bulbasaur from Misty Meets her Match to Present.
Bellossom. The two large flowers on Bellossom's head spins around and a shining blue powder comes out of them.
- Used by Bailey's Bellossom in Flower Power.
Oddish. A blue, sparkling powder is released from the leaves on top of Oddish's head. Any Pokémon or human that goes into this powder will instantly fall asleep.
- Used by Mariah's Oddish in Foul Weather Friends.
- Used by a wild Oddish in Getting Twiggy With It.
Venusaur. Venusaur releases a sparkling blue powder out from the flower on its back.
- Used by a wild Venusaur in Houndoom's Special Delivery.
