In the movie, Shaymin is the Gratitude Pokémon. Shaymin can communicate with telepathy, and has a problem of arrogance, ironically, because it is always talking about the gratitude that the people should have towards it. Because of its terrible experience with Giratina, Shaymin grew a habit of running from everything and screaming that it is going to be eaten, even to people who have no intention of doing so. Shaymin enjoys annoying Ash and sitting on his head, saying that if it is going to be eaten, it'd like Ash to be eaten as well. Shaymin also often insults Ash, calling him stupid when he cannot answer a question, or doesn't understand something. Shaymin eventually develops a strong bond with Ash and Dawn. Shaymin battles against Giratina and later against Zero, with Ash and Giratina, and they end up defeating him. At the end of the movie, Shaymin decides to remain in Glacidea, with other Shaymin.

Trivia

  • Shaymin's flowers have a dark purple/blackish color when in the Reverse World. The trailer that aired after DP088 showed that this applies for both Land and Sky Forme.
