- This article is about the Diamond & Pearl season of the anime. For the games, see Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. For other uses, see Diamond and Pearl.
Pokémon: Diamond & Pearl is the tenth season of the Pokémon anime and the first season of the Diamond & Pearl English-language dub. It follows Ash Ketchum as he begins his journey in the Sinnoh region along with Brock, and new girl Dawn. Ash continues to collect badges, while Dawn competes in contests. It began with Following A Maiden's Voyage, which originally aired on April 20, 2007 in the United States, and is expected to end with DP057 (due to the first five episodes being ordered along with the episodes of Pokémon: Battle Frontier).
It is preceded by Pokémon: Battle Frontier and is succeeded by the yet unnamed 11th season. It should be noted that the concept of seasons does not exist in Japan. An invention of the American animation and television industry, the Diamond & Pearl season of the anime is not differentiated from the rest of the Diamond & Pearl series in Japan. Unlike in Japan, where episodes are aired almost every week of the year, in America episodes are aired in usually 52-episode blocks, or "seasons," for several months before taking a break of several months to allow production on the next batch of episodes to begin.
See the list of Diamond and Pearl episodes for a list of Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl episodes.
