Counterparts
Kris, like the other in-game characters, has an anime counterpart in Marina. However, the two are not interchangeable and neither name applies to both, much like the case with Ash and Red.
Other Kris's counterparts include Crys from Pokémon Special manga and Chris from Golden Boys manga.
Trivia
- Kris is the first playable female character in a Pokémon Game, a tradition that will be continued in all games except Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.
