Brawly's Hariyama (Japanese: トウキのハリテヤマ Tōki's Hariteyama) is Brawly's main Pokémon in the anime and in the games.
In the anime
Hariyama first appeared in Brave the Wave as a Makuhita. Like Brawly, Makuhita also enjoys surfing the waves.
It was used against Ash's Treecko in a Gym battle. With its impressive power and skill, Makuhita was easily able to gain the upper hand. However, when Treecko kept coming back for more, Makuhita evolved into Hariyama. With the massive power boost it gained by evolving, Hariyama finished Treecko off easily with a powerful Knock Off, thus defeating Ash.
It again appeared in A Meditite Fight where it helped Ash and the others to escape from a violent storm.
Ash had his rematch against Brawly in Just One of the Geysers. Hariyama was able to defeat Corphish and almost defeated Treecko. But thanks to Ash's strategy, Treecko was able to defeat Hariyama after a fierce battle, earning Ash the Knuckle Badge.

Hariyama in Pokémon Adventures
Hariyama, as Makuhita, was the second Pokémon sent out in Brawly's Gym battle with Sapphire in VS. Makuhita. While Toro, now newly evolved into a Combusken, easily defeated his Machop, forcing him to recall it, Hariyama, even as Makuhita, gave Sapphire's new Lairon, Rono, a hard time, this time forcing the challenger to withdraw, as her Pokémon, even evolved, now stood no chance. Toro is then forced to switch out to take over for its teammate, but even with its strong Flamethrower attack, it had no means of getting past the rotund fighter's Thick Fat ability, and is easily thrown aside. Things would only get worse when Makuhita uses his stored energy to then evolve into Hariyama, but after a close call, Combusken's Double Kick scores a win, earning Sapphire her second badge fair and square.
Much later, in VS. Kyogre & Groudon XII, Hariyama defeats Mack and his two illusion-producing Slugma using the tactics Brawly learned from his old friend Bruno, but doing so both he and his Trainer spent enough of their vitality that they fainted, and Mack got away.
