Talk pages for Robot Chicken skit guides: Pokémon Bloopers Pikachu Secret

The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

Pokémon Snap

Just wondering, would it be desirable at all if I wanted to add information on the Pokémon seen in the game to the "Other Appearances" sections of the appropriate pages? Drake Clawfang 10:34, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

They should already be under "In side games". --Shiningpikablu252 15:54, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, but they only give the locations. I mean adding like, the circumstances for them appearing (since a lot need to be triggered), what type of pose they can give, etc. For example:
"Pikachu can be found early in the Beach course near a surfboard. If the player lures it closer with food, it will pose on the surfboard. Later in the stage, if the player flushed a Scyther from the first patch of high grass, two Pikachu will run onto tree stumps and perform Thundershock if the player plays the Poke Flute."
If not it's okay, just something I thought that could be done. Drake Clawfang 16:50, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Is that a no then? Drake Clawfang 06:15, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Pokéteca needs a lot of help too...

I noticed that you have a template in your user page (and your talk page) about an Italian wiki needing help, and LANDpedia needing lots of help. Since you have edited the Spanish-language Pokéteca before (mainly adding many, many interwiki links -- I don't know how you have so much patience to do that, but thanks so much for doing that!), you probably know that it needs help too. There are only a few people right now who regularly contribute. In my honest opinion, I think that Solovino, a native Spanish speaker, and I are probably the two most active contributors on Pokéteca right now (and of course, you are as well, from the interwiki links that you add). Some of the Pokéteca admins help too, such as Shadow and CoolPikachu!, among others, but not as much. The lack of people editing Pokéteca is the reason why I edit Pokéteca more often than Bulbapedia, despite the fact that my native language is... English. (You've probably seen me edit Pokéteca if you look at the Recent Changes, which you most likely do.)

Now, I'm not sure now the Italian wiki (I forget the name of it) or LANDpedia compare to this (as I don't visit those sites -- English and Spanish are the only two languages that I know), but either way, I think Pokéteca could use some help, especially when it only has 1,263 articles as of the time that I'm writing this, which to my recollection is much lower than any other Wiki of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis. Not to mention that a lot of articles are either disorganized (look at Chingling, for instance, and compare it to, say, Bulbasaur) or are stubs (just look at Route 202... sigh). So here's the point I would like to get across (and why I'm mentioning this in the first place): Can you add a paragraph about Pokéteca needing help like you did with the other two Wikis? It wouldn't hurt, would it? --Blaziken257 07:46, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

My team page

Yeah, those were accidental typos. I tend to do that a lot, especially with my new keyboard at home, but I should have checked them more. Thanks for checking that. By the way, I don't know where to post this, but the party template is particularly sensitive about where the é is placed. I noticed when I did a replace all on Word, since I was writing episode summaries, but it affected the template and made the Pokémon disappear. Perhaps it should be put on the template talk page? --rockersk08 19:07, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

User Edit Help

How do I correctly put that Template thingy up? It doesn't show Ambipom's Sprite for some reason. I tried changing it but I think it made it worse. Thanks. User:BAC510 19:41 January 25, 2010 (UTC)

What are you trying to do? 梅子 19:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I wasn't touching Gold's template...
In any case, the template is protected due to the fact that it's not 100% confirmed exactly when Ataro will evolve. Just because three preview pages showed it as an Ambipom, that doesn't mean it can't still appear and/or evolve on-panel as an Aipom in chapter nine. We don't know just where the three preview pages take place. We're waiting until, at the very least, the regular serialization either shows it evolving or confirms that it evolved off-panel sometime during the previous two chapters. It's actually quite a similar measure to potential stuff like this in the anime...--Shiningpikablu252 23:43, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
It was BAC510 I was asking if he was touching the template. And don't worry, I'm perfectly aware of why the template was protected - I was actually the one who requested that Deth protect it this morning. 梅子 00:57, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I think I mixed things up. Sorry. I was talking about how I can't Ambipom's Platinum Sprite on the box thing. It shows:

|- |} How can I fix this??? User:BAC510 08:08 January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Fixed. You needed the {{{spritegender}}} option to call the correct image. Well, that and the fact that no one actually got around to putting the male sprite on the server. —darklordtrom 08:48, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. User:BAC510 05:55 January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Huh...

When will you understand that the only languages that the Pokémon games have been translated to are English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Korean? There's nothing like Portuguese (neither Brazilian nor Iberian) translations. They don't exist. You've probably seen a good Portuguese hackrom (I've seen fanmade Crystal in Portuguese, fully translated, looked well-made) or got fooled by the fact that we have many Portuguese editors who add Portuguese names for everything (but those come from the anime or sometimes are merely fantranslations, which I try to detect and delete). But I assure you, authorized game Translations do not exist. --Maxim 21:52, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey

GTS Plus is an abbreviation, hence why I moved it after noticing all the other fansite's articles aren't abbreviated with the exception of Bulbagarden (Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden). To be honest, that was my first page creation, so I pretty much made a mess of all th redirects, and I think all the redirects should be removed since some are incorrect. Thanks --Emp, out 17:24, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

We've got plenty of abbreviation-based redirects. There have been page moves in the past that have moved from abbreviations to expanded-out titles, and in every single case the old title was kept as a redirect. There's no reason "GTS Plus" should be any different. --Shiningpikablu252 18:20, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Barry

I noticed Pearl was actually moved to Barry in the end, a move which you violently opposed, as I do. Did you just give in eventually or are you still fighting this decision? :) Kidburla 12:46, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh, don't worry. That page isn't going to get moved from Pearl to Barry. I guarantee it. If we did, we'd have to move Blue (game) to "Gary (game)" on the same token. --Shiningpikablu252 12:47, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Umm... SP, hate to break it to ya, but we already moved Pearl to Barry days ago. And that doesn't mean moving Blue to Gary, it's not the same case. Barry is Pearl's default name. Blue has actually appeared as an NPC in Gens II and IV. He was Blue as a Gym Leader in GS, and if he'll get a new name in English HGSS, that's what we'll move him to. Same way Red is Red because of his NPC appearance, and same way that if Gold will really be Ethan as an NPC in HGSS, we'll move him too. --electAbuzzzz 14:35, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah as ElectAbuzz says above, this move was already made! That's why I posted in the first place! It looks like you weren't aware of that. So again, can I ask will you be continuing to fight this decision? Kidburla 22:31, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Didn't noticed I did the template wrong or spelled Togekiss wrong. Thanks with that. ShinyGlaceon 16:22, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Link Templates

I think they should be added. Why aren't they added now, anyway? Virtual-Z 18:03, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Don't know why that page in the Appendix space isn't using them. Maybe someone (not necessarily myself) ought to do a sweep over the entire Appendix namespace for stuff like this? --Shiningpikablu252 18:05, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, I'm going to add the Pokemon link template all over that page. I'll scan the appendix namespace afterwards if I have the time. I don't see any reason why the templates aren't being used :S. Virtual-Z 18:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Don't see why some people think that the Appendix namespace should qualify as an exception to style...--Shiningpikablu252 18:13, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Blocking

... of Ninja wolf. No usage of Preview Button. ht14 22:27, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Okay man

Here's the deal. Because you've remained quite adamant against the decisions of the EB and administration, in cases regarding official names such as LV.X (vs Lv.X) and Forme (vs Form), as well as in more recent issues such as being out of line speaking about Brazillian translators and Barry, you're going to be put on probation for a little while. After two months' time, we will re-evaluate you, and if we find you in good standing, you may get your powers back.

Any questions can be brought up by email, or however you choose to keep in contact. TTEchidna 06:29, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

What? Under what circumstances can I avoid being put on probation? (Yes, there is a way, I know there is. I'll do anything at all to avoid probation...) --Shiningpikablu252 16:42, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
It's not a glitch, you are already on probation. Virtual-Z 19:44, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Uh, I'm not on probation. Threatened, yes, but I'll overcome this threat, remain in good standing, and make sure I never get put on probation as long as I'm here. Yes, as long as I'm here, I swear that I will never do anything that gets me put on probation even once! And that's a promise I vow to never break! --Shiningpikablu252 20:24, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Did you even look at the list? -Sketch 20:28, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
What list? Keep in mind, my goal is to never be put on probation even once, and that's a goal I aim to reach. --Shiningpikablu252 20:28, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
The admin list, the one that states you're already on probation. SP. You get a message from the EiC saying you're being put on probation and your powers are taken away. Then your powers stop working. Put 2 and 2 together. You're on probation. Now, this discussion really should NOT continue here. We have e-mails and IM programs for these things. --electAbuzzzz 20:31, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
I'd also encourage you to focus on anything other than your probation right now, to maximize your chances of getting your powers back. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:16, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Uh, I'm trying to ensure that I'm back in good standing no later than tonight here...--Shiningpikablu252 21:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that's probably not going to happen. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
There's a way to do it. I'm just waiting to know how. --Shiningpikablu252 21:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
It's not going to happen, dude. Just accept it. 梅子 21:20, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, it will happen. By tonight, it'll be as if I was never threatened with probation to begin with...
Granted, I'd rather not see the new message bar every five times I try to see just where an image up for deletion on the Archives is linked to here on Bulbapedia...--Shiningpikablu252 21:21, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
You are not being threatened with probation, you are on probation. -Sketch 21:24, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
OK, I really hope for your sake that you're just trolling now, otherwise this is getting sad. You weren't "threatened with probation". You were notified that you are on probation. For two months. Just two months. You want your powers back? Suck it up, stop acting like a little kid, and just edit like usual. Without your powers. --electAbuzzzz 21:25, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
If that were true, then how can I get off no later than tonight? --Shiningpikablu252 21:26, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
I'd suggest getting the Delorean up to eighty-eight miles per hour before the lightning strikes.
The other option is to actually focus on fixing the issues that have put you on probation. And unless you can prove that you're going to maintain the standards and follow the warnings of the EB by tonight, this probation will continue for the full duration. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:27, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
OK, what's the first lesson? --Shiningpikablu252 21:28, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Start by looking at the various warnings you have gotten. this one in particular, then on to this one and this one. Surely you already know about this stuff, since it's been brought up both here, in edit summaries, and I'm quite sure you've been contacted privately at least once or twice.
Acting like this probation is just a "glitch" doesn't help, because it shows you're not really listening. Trying to get a two-month probation down to a few hours right off the bat also shows you're not taking this seriously at all. Sit back and take a look at the situation if you're still confused by it all, or just continue editing like you normally do.
You haven't magically ceased to be a good editor, and you're not blocked from editing. It's your admin qualifications that have been called into question, not your editing capabilities. So please take this seriously, and let's not blow this out of proportion.
If you want to continue this, you can contact some of us privately via AIM or e-mail, or something of the sort. As it's going, it's more like talk page abuse, which doesn't reflect well on the situation. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:45, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
I haven't done any of that in quite awhile. I learned my lesson after some people got mad at me about those comments. It's been, I don't know, several pages worth of edit history at 500 per page since I made a comment about Brazilian Portuguese game translations (and even longer since one included an alcohol reference), and longer than that since I changed a "forme" to "form"...--Shiningpikablu252 21:48, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
You've repeated the game translators one several times, for several languages. Also, as Echy said at the beginning, there were other incidents, the most recent of which regarding Barry/Pearl. Now, seriously, just stop. If you keep replying here you WILL be further punished for talk abuse, as the EB members here said. --electAbuzzzz 21:52, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Censoring yourself

What's the point of censoring yourself if you can avoid the word in the first place? It looks lame. Either say it or don't. -Sketch 20:40, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Oi

I'm not an idiot unlike a fair good few people who attempt to use complicated template syntax and fail miserably. I removed the item from the Pokémon so by force of habit from WP and other templates I replaced the previously mentioned item with none.

If it bothers you so much, they why not code it in so that if none is accidentally put in rather than leaving it out completely, that it acts the same as if it wasn't there - instead of going around bitching in edit summaries? TheChrisD RantsEdits 16:34, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

I actually made that comment by pretty much impluse. There have been quite a few inexperienced users making party templates on their user pages, using "held=None" to denote no held item, only to put "None" onto the wanted pages and getting a visit from me afterward. It happened so often that I started using a line paraphrased from a television show whenever I made these visits. Simply put: You weren't the first to get that line, and you probably won't be the last.
Oh, and just in case anybody from PETA's reading this: We're not actually harming dolphins. It's a figure of speech. If you want to be mad at someone, find the producers of the television show the line's paraphrased from and get mad at them. --Shiningpikablu252 16:42, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
SP252 - perhaps best not to use that turn of phrase on people's user pages. Don't want to upset anyone else, ok? —darklordtrom 23:05, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Suzy

Could you, by any chance, check the CC/Subs for the spelling of Suzy's name? I remember that I moved the page when we didn't have so many policies. I've seen the name on Pokemon.com and immediately believed it. But most official sources I've seen had Suzie and I haven't seen any source with "Suzy" other than Pokemon.com. --Maxim 17:09, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
