Parallel rodents, more commonly nicknamed as Pikachu-line parallels, Pika-parallels, Pikachu parallels and Raichu parallels, are a fan terminology used for a group of evolution-capable rodent Pokémon inspired by the Pikachu evolution line.
This group encompasses several shared themes such as designs based off rodents, being part of the evolution line and being used to utilize cute designs for marketing purposes. Unlike electric rodents, Electric-types are not a requirement but they must meet the criteria of being part of an evolution line.
Atsuko Nishida was responsible for designing eight of the parallel rodents, namely Pikachu, Raichu,[1][2] Minccino, Cinccino,[3] Alolan Raichu,[4] Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot.[5]

Marill-line
Marill has similar design traits to Pikachu, being a cute, round Pokémon with black button-like eyes. Marill and Pikachu are also both in the Fairy Egg Group, and were both initially the first stage in a two-stage evolutionary line before gaining a pre-Evolution in the next generation which is a baby Pokémon that evolves via friendship Evolution. Prior to the release of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Marill was often referred to as "Pikablu" by fans, and it was erroneously referred to as such on the Topps trading cards for the first movie. However, Marill has never officially been acknowledged as related to the electric rodents.
The Marill-line all receive Fairy as their secondary-type during Generation VI, though later in Generation VII, the Pikachu-line received a dual-type Electric/Psychic regional branched Evolution in form of Alolan Raichu.
Minccino-line
While being designed as a parallel to Clefairy, Minccino also shares design traits with Pikachu, being the Generation V's take on the cute, round Pokémon with black button-like eyes. Both Minccino and Pikachu are in the Field Egg Group, are the first stage in a two-stage evolutionary lines (formerly in Pikachu's case), and Minccino has also been used as promotional Pokémon during Generation V's run, being the main Pokémon in Pokémon Black and White's "world of Pokémon" intro.
Both Minccino and Pikachu evolve via evolution stones, with Cinccino and Raichu having the similar base-stat total. Although they are similar, they are mutually-exclusive in regional Pokédex appearances until Minccino and Cinccino's inclusion in the alternate Alola Pokédex.
Pawmi-line
Being the electric rodents of Generation IX, Pawmi, Pawmo and Pawmot share the three-stage evolution line, a first since Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu. Although Pawmi is not a baby Pokémon like Pichu or Azurill, its evolution line parallels that of Pikachu evolution line and Marill evolution line, making Pawmi line both electric rodents and parallel rodents.
Similar Pokémon
Mimikyu's design is directly inspired by Pikachu, and it is sometimes featured in official artwork showcasing the electric rodents. The Japanese web page for the "HOPPE DAISHŪGO" merchandise states: "よく見ると、でんきタイプではないポケモンが1匹、こっそり仲間入りしているね" ("If you look closely, you'll see that one Pokemon that is not an Electric type has secretly joined the group.") This references Mimikyu's behavior of pretending to be a Pikachu.
However, unlike Pikachu or its parallels, Mimikyu is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Instead, Mimikyu changes forms from Disguised Form into Busted Form when it is hit by an attack.

Trivia
- Pichu and the Marill evolution line are the only Pokémon in the category not designed by Atsuko Nishida.
- Raichu is the only parallel rodent to have a regional form and to be capable of undergoing Mega Evolution.
- As such, Pikachu is the only parallel rodent to have a branched Evolution.
- Minccino is the only parallel rodent which stayed single-type in its final form, due to Alolan Raichu being dual-typed.
- Pikachu and Alolan Raichu are the only parallel rodents with unique Z-Moves (Catastropika for Pikachu, 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt for Pikachu in a cap, and Stoked Sparksurfer for Alolan Raichu).
- Minccino and Cinccino are the only parallel rodents that are still part of a two-stage evolutionary line.
- Azurill and the Minccino line are the only parallel rodents to have a gender ratio of one male to three females.
- While Marill was the first parallel rodent to be dual-type since Generation VI, Pawmo and Pawmot are the first new parallel rodents to have dual-type upon introduction. Alolan Raichu, introduced after Marill's type change, is also dual-type.
- Cinccino is the only fully-evolved parallel rodent to not have type advantage over another, as Pawmot has type advantage over Cinccino.
- Pawmot and Azumarill have type advantage on each other, while both forms of Raichu have type advantage over Azumarill.
- Azumarill and Alolan Raichu have type advantages over Pawmot, making Pawmot the only fully-evolved parallel rodent with two type weaknesses from others.
