In the anime

In Mission: Total Recall!, it was first used alongside Hypno to battle Gladion's Umbreon and Lycanroc. It was able to defeat Umbreon using a combination of Miracle Eye and Psychic. It was later used to stop Ash from saving Lillie, but was defeated by Gladion's Silvally.

It reappeared in a flashback in Faba's Revenge!.

In The Professors' New Adventure!, it attended the wedding of Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet with Faba.

In The Prism Between Light and Darkness!, Alakazam, Hypno, and Professor Kukui's Braviary attacked the aircraft that a special Team Rocket unit named Matori Matrix (Japanese: マトリマトリックス Matori Matrix) was using. It later battled Gozu alongside Hypno and Braviary, only to be hit by his Mega Aggron's Heavy Slam.

In SM129, Faba used Alakazam during the Battle Royal round of the Manalo Conference. Alakazam was seen attacking a Boldore with Psychic. Alakazam was among the 16 Pokémon still standing at the end and was able to progress its Trainer to the next round.

Personality and characteristics

At first, Alakazam, along with Hypno, was a malicious Pokémon who would do anything to keep Lillie from remembering her past. But after Ash and the gang returned Lusamine back to the real world, Alakazam showed to have a remorseful side as it and Hypno apologized for attacking everyone.
