History

Briar and Pagogo

Briar was first mentioned in Into a New Sky! The Brave Olivine!, Raifort indicated that Liko, Roy and Dot needed to meet her because of their current research on Terapagos.

In Roy is Crocalor, and Crocalor is Roy!, it was revealed by her student Carmine, that Briar was at the Crystal Pool. In Encounters at the Crystal Pool, Briar met Friede, Liko, Roy and Dot at the Crystal Pool, she immediately wanted to study Terapagos upon seeing it, and with the group she soon discussed information on Terapagos, its forms, and Area Zero. Briar additionally started talking about her ancestor Heath's discoveries and research regarding Area Zero, which she intended to prove to be true despite them having been publicly dismissed as fiction. When Friede asked her information on Laquium, Briar had not heard of it before, but was nontheless interested in finding out more about it.

In Entei's Fierce Battle Cry!, Briar contacted the Rising Volt Tacklers, informing them of the sighting of a Pokémon resembling Entei made within Area Zero and asking them to meet her back at Paldea.

In Total-lie Awesome Pokémon in Area Zero?!, Briar walked Friede, Liko, Roy, and Dot through Area Zero to the site where Entei was seemingly spotted. She also explained the concept of Paradox Pokémon to the Rising Volt Tacklers as well as some of them were currently living in Area Zero. While she and Friede walked and talked, they inadvertedly got ahead of Liko, Roy, and Dot. Later that night, after Liko, Roy, and Dot head some loud cries in the distance, Briar revealed the cry belonged to Scream Tail but did not elaborate further due to her sleepiness.

In The Pillar of Fire, Briar witnessed the battle between the Rising Volt Tacklers and Lucius's "Entei". Upon witnessing its unusual appearance, its use of Burning Bulwark, resistance to Water-type moves and further research into the Scarlet Book, she realized that Lucius's "Entei" was really a Gouging Fire. After the Rising Volt Tacklers pass Gouging Fire's test, Briar witnessed the Paradox Pokémon show off its memories and how it met Lucius, before going back into its Ancient Poké Ball.

In Beyond the Shining Rainbow, Briar witnessed Liko and the Rising Volt Tacklers' battle against Rayquaza. Initially, she was taking care of Terapagos, but when Liko's Tera Pokémon entered the battle, Briar witnessed the Pokémon's enormous power. At the end of the battle, Briar said goodbye to the group and said that everything she witnessed will help her in her personal research for her book.

Briar reappeared in a flashback in The Pokémon Paradise of Laqua!.

A year later, in Taking the Next Steps, Briar was contacted by Liko to answer some questions. Unfortunately, she revealed that with the increasingly tight deadline for the delivery of her book, she was unable to respond at that moment and promised to contact Liko in the future.

Some time later, in Better, Farther, Stronger!, Briar returned Liko's call and revealed that she had completed her book, with the free time, she invited Liko and the other Rising Volt Tacklers to visit the Blueberry Academy.

In Welcome to Blueberry Academy!, Briar spoke with Liko and her friends via Rotom Phone, revealing that she couldn't meet with them because she was helping with maintenance on the Blueberry Academy's Terrarium. The following day, Briar and Carmine gathered Liko, Roy, Dot, and Ult to begin her studies at the Strong Sphere, Laquium, and especially Terapagos.

In Ult-imate Training, Briar contacted the Rising Volt Tacklers and Penny again to inquire about Pagogo's eating habits and personal details. During the meeting, Liko helped Briar with her research, much to Carmine's displeasure.

In Don't Give Up, Crocalor!, Briar reunited the group to present the partial results of her research. Using Diana's and Jacq's research and her own personal experience, Briar theorized that the Rising Volt Tacklers would need to gather all eighteen existing Tera-types for Pagogo to be able to use his full power and thus end the Laquium existing on the planet. According to her, these eighteen types must come from Pokémon with strength comparable to that of the Six Heroes. After Roy's battle against Drayton, Briar bid farewell to Pagogo and the Rising Volt Tacklers, asking to be updated on anything they might discover in the future.
